Same thing happened to me and I got rid of it. Don't really miss it at all.

The info we get here is great... Usually somebody has already been there done that and knows what needs to be done... That being said, the guys that have had their Taco go into limp mode, I think they all said they removed the PC. Wondering if just turning the PC off would have done the same thing? From all I've read, when turned off is like removing them completely, like it isn't there, it puts them back exactly as it was without the PC installed. If mine ever goes into limp, I'll be sure try turning it off, to see what happens and report back.

I have a 2011 2.7 base Tacoma and was not impressed with it's performance. Read about the Pedal Commander and gave it a shot. It does what it advertises and increases throttle response. Still not over enthused, I decided to re gear with 4:10s and added a locker at the same time. Since then I don't use the Pedal Commander. Not cheap but works great.

Great thing about the Pedal Commander I think they've always had a 30 day, for any reason, full refund policy. It doesn't take anywhere near 30 days to decide if you think it's worth the cost or not, if not send it back and you're only out the trouble of hooking, unhooking, and returning it. I also looked into the 4.10's, the not cheap part is what turned me away, the change was gon'na cost appx. half of what the Taco as worth. I wound up with the PC. Thanks rob, I'm sure we all appreciate the input.

    Two questions:
    1. What did the re-gear and locker cost to do?
    2. Has it affected your gas mileage positive or negative?

IMG_9654.jpg It cost nearly $2000. Fuel consumption for me has not really changed, I'm getting close to 18mpg, so it's still a pig - factory epa with an auto trans. was 18/21. So with bigger tires and the re gear it's close to factory.
I'm hoping to keep this truck for as long as possible which is the justification for the $$$
Back to the Pedal Commander, for those looking to increase their trucks giddy up, It accomplishes this in my opinion.

I tried turning it off, but still had issues. The P2121 code indicates a problem with the throttle position sensor, so I think it had to do with the actual connection. Anyway, it's removed and I'm happy.

It increases the voltage of the signal sent by your accelerator to the trottle eliminating the delay. It doesn't open the throttle any quicker or give more hp just eliminates the delay.
No, it isn't the same as stepping on the pedal faster.
    Yes, it works.

Its an analog signal fed to the ecu. You could put a light switch in place of the gas pedal and it wouldnt open or close the throttle blade any quicker than it already does (which is insanely quick).

I really can't see why this is still on here being discussed. After post 207 that showed of the 33 folks that had responded, 26 folks "had actually tried a PC", 24 of the 26 liked the PC, 1 said it was too sensitive & he couldn't get it adjusted down enough, and 1 that had tried it & said he didn't see the benefit. The other 7, "had not tried a PC" but with videos, charts, and electrical engineering explanations, they showed us why the PC does not work on paper. Thanks for the time and effort you put into explaining it. Anybody contemplating buying a PC. has the opportunity to put credence in the folks that have tried, & used, them or the folks that have never tried them. It sure shouldn't matter much to any of us what their decision is nor how they made it. In the end, I hope everybody finds what works best for them. It seems if you're still wondering & don't know who's opinion seems best about whether they do what they say they will or not, What I did worked great for me. Find one that has the full refund warranty as the Sprint Booster has, take the 30 min. to install & try it, and go by your own opinion. If it's not good for you, send it back, if it's good for you keep it. In the end, your opinion is the only one that's gon'na matter..... Best of luck to everybody.

As a very smart man once said, "I'll take my personal experience over your Google search any day". I have a four auto, I got the Sprint Booster, and have had it for quite some time. I'd do it again without hesitation.

Had a Pedal Commander (PC) in my 5th gen 4Runner for over a year - it was great. No issues. Just installed one in my 2023 Taco. Noted that the PC plug into the factory harness didn't press in far enough to "click" securely. After several attempts, I threaded a small zip tie in between the center wires and secured it to ensure it the connection would not free itself due to vibration. I'll report back if I have any issues.

No doubt you'd feel better if everything clicked together like it should, that being said the click is a lock just guaranteeing it stays together. Your zip tie is now the lock guaranteeing it stays together. Can't imagine it would ever come apart with nothing, there's no pressure there anywhere... I'd think you did good.

I went back and revisited the install. A little background; on the initial install a white spacer block from the Tacoma male side and dislodged and wedged itself in the female side (Pedal) preventing me from doing the install. The second attempt the white block reseated itself in the male plug although the gasket looked a little weird I was able to make the connection with the help of a zip tie (I know - I should have used duct tape) to make sure it didn't come apart. Today's attempt I disassembled the factory male side plug, removed the white block and gasket, and reseated the gasket where it should have been and reinstalled the white spacer block. I was then able to complete the connection and achieve a positive lock.

Regarding the issues identified by some, I always only changed settings while idling in park. Pedal Commander advises not to change settings on the move. Not sure if that's their issue or not. Never had any problems in the 4Runner.

What you're going to get, whatever you spend, is an enhanced seat of pants "feel" from the accelerator pedal. Lots of folks on here spend more and get less, and will swear that it is the best money they ever spent on their truck - whatever it is that they bolted on. If you got the dough burning a hole in your pocket, the people that own Pedal Commander have employees to pay, you can help.

Seat of the pants feel must mean something, I've quit keeping up, but back when I was over 90% of the folks that tired pedal controllers liked them. Most, not all, that didn't like them had never tried them. Just hope everybody's happy, whatever they do.

How did you get the cover off? I can't get mine off and am worried about breaking stuff.
