    I'm kinda calling BS...

All the PC does is electronically press the throttle harder when accelerating, when your RPM's drop enough to want to downshift your, engine RPM is too low and your ECU will actually have the throttle plate mostly closed and be cutting fuel. Pressing the pedal harder (even if digitally) won't give you more power, the engine will ignore the input to maintain RPM best it can until a stall.

The PC doesn't give you anymore power. It's not an ECU tune or fuel map or anything of the sort so I think you're just placebo'ed.

I know it doesn’t give more power. It cuts the delay for the damn drive by wire and supposedly makes it more like having an actual throttle cable, an idea that I like.

maybe it’s just me, but OP’s opening post kinda sounds like he was paid to make that post. Not saying that’s the case, just saying..

I can promise you, nobody paid me to do or say anything. I was just that impressed by the unit that I wanted to tell ya'll about it. I also understand that it doesn't give you more power, it gives more "perceived" power because of how the throttle and acceleration is affected. If I got that kind of response from a different mod that really did increase power significantly, everyone would be wanting to do it. But just because it manipulates the throttle response, now some people think it's not worth it. Whatever. To each their own, but I am definitely starting to see who the "Negative Nancys" are on this site. (Not you Wiggler).

I bought Pedal Commander 2 months ago very impressed with the throttle response now. The Pedal Commander tricks the ECU fly by wire gas pedal. If previously the gas pedal needed to be depressed 20% to move the vehicle to 30 MPH with the Pedal Commander pushing to the same 20% is actually sending a signal to the gas pedal for 40%. These #'s are only for illustration only.

If your on the fence wait till Black Friday I'm sure they will have sale. Do it Do it. You won't regret it.

Agreed. There are tons of overwhelmingly positive reviews for the PC in all different types of applications. I always check and double checks reviews on things that I buy, especially expensive things, and this one consistently has 4.5+ star reviews because it works.

A lot of the people saying it I placebo or it’s a waste of money just mash the peddle harder have not tried it. I’ve had it for over a year. It is no more power it just delivers what is there without jamming the peddle. Eco mode is crazy difference, shifts so slow and def prob great for gas mileage but damn. After a while of having it I thought well I can just get rid of it I don’t feel a difference anymore. So I turned it off for a few days and damn do you see a difference right away.

again it’s not a tune or regear or anything huge but it does make it feel peppier.

Man, you have only been on this site for less than a month, you ain't seen nothing yet! Lots of "snake oil", opinion cited as fact, inane questions easily answered by a "search" and self appointed "experts" on everything automotive, to "peer review" any and everything you ever needed to discuss about your Tacoma. If you can sort the wheat from the chaff, TW is also a very valuable resource for maintaining and repairing your Tacoma.

I love TW and the information and helpful members here are great! I don't take anything personally if someone wants to disagree or troll something I post. I'm a cop, I'm used to it. I'm also a member on a couple other fitness boards and it's the same thing there too. I appreciate the comradery here as everyone shares a common interest. I've only had my truck a month and I'm already addicted!

Hmmm, just looked this item up and smells like snake oil to me. Doesn’t seem any different than the placebo effect of fuel injector cleaner, K&N air filters, or high octane gas.

Its not placebo. It changes the way your trucks acceleration "feels" by adjusting how a computer translates how much your pushing the pedal. Its actually a pretty simple change that would clearly change the way the truck feels. And like the OP noted, it doesn't sell that you have more HP or a better truck. I liken it to my road bikes brakes, some people like to have a lot of slop in their brakes, you have to pull much more to make them stop, some people like super sensitive brakes. Both stop the bike, just changes how much physical force you have to put into them, which changes the "feel". Glad the OP likes their new PC, always nice to enjoy driving truck that little bit more :burnrubber:

A variant that approaches this change differently is the gas pedal spacer. It's intent isn't to reduce/eliminate lag but in a way it does give the perception of a peppier throttle response. I have this on my 2012 because I found the gas pedal position uncomfortable for me. When my wife drives my truck she noticed that it was difficult for her to keep under the speed limits (compared to hers that doesn't have it). She wasn't aware of the spacer under the gas pedal. I think there are some (not all) parallels between the PC and spacer. I don't know if the spacer is still available but it's a lot cheaper than the PC....

Not trying to sabotage the PC post but here is a demonstration for Sprint Booster and the competitors.

    Sprint Booster vs. Competitors:
    https://youtu.be/1EkDzsSqRg4

I can tell you it makes a difference. My 2016 5th Gen 4Runner TRD Pro was a turd off the line at a standstill, even getting up speed on the freeway ramp. The response was terrible. The pedal is very responsive now with my foot controls and I don't have to chase for the correct foot inputs. I say add a good aftermarket breathable air filter or CAI and it will not disappoint you. My father's 2012 GMC Terrain was terribly sluggish before he added a K&N filter and the Sprint Booster. I can attest the before and after driving experience. Once I put it in "Race Mode" setting it was scary how responsive it was. My dad was grinning ear to ear on the test drive. He always hated the power and complained that he felt like trading it in for something with more pep. I can't get him out of the car now!

In the end all these products are are just simple potentiometers. They bring back the feel of the drive by cable experience. I say it was money well spent.

Whether it's a PC or Sprint Booster, you can't go wrong with either one.

I had one on my 2016 canyon . And it made driving it not only more enjoyable but safer. The canyon had such a lag between when you stomped the pedal and when the computer responded it was kinda dangerous merging onto the highway. For me it was worth the investment. Now on my Tacoma I don’t feel the lag .but im sure it would do the same.
