There is no such thing as 100% of throttle on our tacomas. You can have100% of accelerator pedal
The throttle is limited by ECU.
On stock ecu, the amount of accelerator does not reflect the amount of the trottle.
ECU limits the throttle for each gear, also wont allow to advance trottle under heavy loads..
PC just allows you to get to those limits faster, but does not eliminate the issue

That is my point. It just takes you to the 100% of what you can already do, but making you not have to push the pedal down as far. Seems like no benefit while adding another point of failure on your throttle.

How would this work for a MT?

I installed PC on my 2013 6MT and there is a huge difference in throttle response. I've scaled back to using city at +1 because the enhanced response in 1st gear leads to losing traction on the rear tires more often then I'd like.

Overall, I really like the change in acceleration. Shifting into 2nd and 3rd the truck doesn't bog down as much at low RPMs. I've only burned one tank of gas on it, but my MPGs went up by 1.8 (from 16.7 to 18.5) from the last tank with exactly the same type of driving because I no longer feel I need to burn out RPMs in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, to avoid bogging down after a shift.

With that said, I'm not a fan of how it drives in 1st when e.g. in a parking lot, the throttle can feel "goosey" kind of like starting in 4lo on flat ground. I'm going to wait and see if I get used to it, and if not I'll probably return the PC. I love driving in gears 2-6 now, just not a fan of how much more touchy the gas pedal is when in 1st gear.

    2nd Gen? Yes that I don't know.
You kinda made my point (touchy the gas pedal is), but I have no problem with you liking it.
I just meant PC adds no power. Pointless to me.

No one has ever claimed it adds power, just the response of the throttle to pressure on the pedal which, as far as I'm concerned, is a very noticeable difference. So noticeable that I may return the product because it makes too much of a change.

As someone mentioned in another thread, it seems like most of those who criticize PC as useless are the ones who've never owned or tested one, YMMV.
