Bought one of those Pedal Commander thingys on a whim & can't get the connector off the gas pedal. What's the trick to getting it off without breaking it?

Anyone know how to release one of these connectors from the pedal?

Havent tried, most harnesses have a clip.

That said, even the manufacturer basically says it does the same thing as mashing your foot down. Maybe since it hasnt been installed u can get ur money back.

Seems the same as just stomping on the gas from every stop sign and light.

Yeah starting to have 2'nd thoughts 4 sure. They got a 14 day return policy so might just send it back & call it a day...

Hey, thats just what the manufacturer wording says to me.... maybe im reading it wrong.
Maybe more will chime in.... time will tell.

I can imagine the hilarious starts in rain with this and say a supercharged tacoma with some supporting mods. I just see a pedal fest.

Well - finally got the connector loose w/o breaking it & hooked up the device. Little early for a final verdict but definitely makes the pedal more responsive depending on the setting...

I hear ya - but you can also go into eco mode for less sensitivity. I've barely used it but seems like its big advantage will be the ability to set it for current driving conditions. Eco for slower response on slick roads, city for daily driving and although haven't tried it yet - maybe sport for interstate such as passing & on ramps. I read all the threads that said it was just like stomping more on the gas but don't think you can regulate the amount of pressure applied to the pedal accurately enough to reproduce what this electronic thingamajiggy does. The + & - for each setting provide very consistent incremental adjustments so you can set it to the sweet spot that feels best based on anticipated conditions - or you can just turn it off & go back to stock. Also think it may somehow alter your shift points with an auto (which I have) but will take more experimentation to confirm. Is it necessary? Definitely not. Is it cool to be able to adjust the sensitivity of your gas pedal by the push of a button? IMO - Hell Yeah!!! lol
