I would stray away from that behavior...more "harm" than good at the end of the day.

I think there's something to be said for understanding the limits of your vehicle but if you drive carefully you would never reach it anyway. Smooth and steady is the proper way to drive though I can't say that a donut in an empty snow covered parking lot isn't a bit fun. Haven't done that in many years though considering I live in SC.

Wow haha, as the original poster I have to say there is a lot of negative answers on here. Jeez did half you guys even read the whole post, I said I don't intend on doing it often, and I was just curious about the negative side afffects besides obviously the tires. Maybe I am an imature teenager, but I think all of you old guys have been there too.

It wont hurt the truck, but it could affect your license. Out here, a little burn out is called "Recklass Driving", and is an 8 point offense on your license. Been there, paid that....

If you read your warranty, peeling out does void it. The dealers have tread guns that can read how uneven your tread is, and the readout on the gun can tell them if your back right tire is worn prematurely from peeling out. In fact, the next time you take it in, they will know, so you better come up with some sort of plan or explanation. I would tell them you were trying to climb Lombard street in the rain, and you were forced to peel out. Good Luck, Sir.

Well you're right, we have been there and I do think there's more than one hypocrite among us. I responded without insults because I think it's a better to teach rather than go the other route.

been there done that, done donuts in the rain in a parking lot once.

I'll leave it to my friend with his 450whp big turbo. more fun in his car.

Just know if you post something that isnt exactly wise or safe no matter where you are, you'll get called out on it on this forum. that is all.

I look at my vehicles as I would any piece of equipment: take care of it and it will last a long time. That's my grandfather speaking through me.
