1: search is your friend (broken record I know, but it is what it is). plenty that bought trucks got screwed. some that were taken care of.

2: if the truck was not bought new in an "extreme climate state" then it's not eligible no matter what, regardless of second ownership (though some may get lucky)

3: you may get a better frame but the rest of your "better product" will shit the bed in about 7 years, or kill you with their airbag.

4: if your first truck got bought back due to "bad frame" it should ring somewhere that maybe you should get the new one checked out, regardless of if you were in school. it was FREE for the check, no money

5: your "mechanic" is to blame for not properly inspecting or informing you of the rotting frame over time. sue/blame him/her

6: we don't care about DANA or whoever else is in class action, the "little" person rarely sees any significant benefit

7: with 170k starting salary you can have your student loan paid of within 10-15 years. go buy a Range Rover or w/e floats your boat

Wished you lived closer James...if your ever in NY let me know I would love to meet up and show you around. Entitlement is pretty amusing considering how hard I've worked. Gotta love people that run their mouths on their internet.

I'm not the only person in this thread reading the writing on the wall.

Entitlement definitely doesn't match your apparent attitude that you have worked incredibly hard, much harder than anyone else could even comprehend let alone compete with.

    OH WAIT.

Thanks. I don't plan to though, and you'll likely be too busy to remember to look me up.

PeeRunner can be rather blunt, and direct, and yes, sometimes rude, but that's just his way, so don't go blame the whole forum or paint us all with the same brush because you don't like a few posts.

as others have pointed out here you cant blame anyone in this situation, Toyota has the warranty out there to take care of those most affected and beyond that you cant expect more.

especially with you saying you just went through a frame issue, there is no excuse for you not to have checked into all this before buying another one and in truth, Toyota is great for doing it and we are lucky to even have that warranty.

if these were fords or chevys they would have just said screw you if your frame rotted out so its buyer beware is the rule.

I would still talk to a lawyer to see if you have solid grounds to fight for the warranty

Here's a thread from 2 years before I registered here regarding Toyota's blood sucking, corporate scumbags taking advantage of clueless Tacoma owners.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/toyota-2001-2004-rusty-frame-wont-replace-anymore.203692/

So if you think I am the one who started telling people it's their fault they don't have a CLUE about THEIR vehicle then you'd be, in fact, incorrect.

I am also disgusted that this forum has sucked since 2012. In fact, if I had been made aware of this prior to taking ownership of my own TacomaWorld username I likely would have taken my goods elsewhere. However, I did not receive any letters regarding their issues, nor did I have time to go back to posts from 2012 and find out for myself. I'm sure you can understand that I'm clearly not at fault here, and this is due to utter failure of TacomaWorld to provide sufficient notification.

    Typical typical typical.

It's always someone else fault you didn't keep up on your own shit. Do you expect Toyota to call up every single dmv every single day just to check if any new tacomas got sold to new owners? Not to mention it's only specific vin models that qualify so do you then want them to go check the vin on every truck that gets sold to someone new as well? And then take the time to seek the new owner out just to tell then there a POSSIBLE issue with their frame? here's a new phrase you've probably never said in your life that you should try out...

"I fucked up." Or maybe "this is my fault"

Seriously the whole I was just soooooo busy I didn't have even 10 minutes to check the vin of my multiple thousand dollar investment is 100000% bullshit. You fucked yourself over, learn how to take responsibility for it.
