Q - If I order my bumper today (6/20) when should I expect to see it?
A - THE BUMPERS ARE STILL IN THE DEVELOPMENT STAGE. WE HAVE DONE ALL OF OUR DESIGNS IN OUR CAD PROGRAM, WE HAVE DONE OUR STRESS ANALYSIS AND NOW HAVE TO BUILD AND TEST A PROTOTYPE IN THE REAL WORLD APPLICATION. THIS WILL TAKE ROUGHLY 6 WEEKS AND THEN IT WILL GO INTO PRODUCTION. ONCE PRODUCTION STARTS 12-14 WEEKS.

Q - Will you email us if the pricing changes?
A - ABSOLUTELY! WE DON'T EXPECT IT TO CHANGE, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS THE CHANCE SOMETHING CHANGES DURING PROTOTYPING. A SMALL COMPONENT CHANGE COULD IMPACT THE PRICE SLIGHTLY.

Took long enough, guess I am going full pelfrey on this build again

Why isn't there an option of a dual jerry can set up like you have on the second gens? From what I see its just two single can mounts? And are you guys going to allow for any custom additions?

I definitely want to see how this thing is going to be once its mounted also. Really want to see how the hilift is on there =D

Whatever though youll be getting my money soon enough

 

The single can allows for more options to be paired. You can run one gas can, one propane tank. Or pair the gas can with another accessory.

We do still have the Dual Can mounts, although I'm not 100% sure if we will continue producing them with the singles. We aren't on doing a lot of custom work, but are happy to discuss what you're looking for.

Is it possible to modify an existing hi-clearance rear to add the swingouts?

 

Unfortunately they will be completely different bumpers.

 

So I did a thing today and I’m now even more interested in this bumper, but not the 5 month lead time

 

We dont like the lead time either as we would like to be selling them already but alas, good things take time!

 

Since it isn't done yet, perhaps some constructive criticism. That's a pretty terrible place to put an antenna. I imagine that you have some kind of bushing or bearing on the swingout hinge? That's going to electrically isolate the jerry can holder from the rest of the truck. There are some ham antennas that don't require a ground plane, but if you are going to use it with a grounded antenna or cb. it might be worth adding a grounding strap between the jerry can swingout and the bumper. The shorter the better, and the bigger the better. Also, antennas shouldn't be closed so closely together, even VHF antennas should be several feet apart to avoid interaction. CB antennas, forget it, they should be about 18 feet apart.

Beyond those things, looks amazing. Very cool design.

 

I appreciate the feedback, not sure those are the final locations for the antenna mounts but I will talk to Tyler about it!

Most people will not use both if any at all for antennas. People that are looking for good radio performance will select an area of the vehicle that provides a better ground plane. The holes are there as an option for those that want to go the bumper mount route. Most people will use these holes for a light or flag in areas that require whip flags.
