    Pics under the hood don't tell much of the story. Basically had to move the battery over a touch, move the washer reservoir over and that's about it, nothing too bad. Inside the cab I lost the little foot-pad on the drivers side which was minor. The plastic cover that goes up into the firewall on each side form the door area doesn't have the plastic nut holding it anymore but not an issue. Im pretty sure you could make it work with a manual truck but it would be close, you're giving up a decent amount of space under the clutch pedal.

    The process is pretty tedious because using a plasma to cut it is too risky because of location, cutoff wheel only fits in some spots so a small body saw is used mostly. One guy cuts while another watches the backside to ensure no wires etc are harmed. Because of the thin sheet metal the pieces that are welded back in have to be a very nice fit so you can actually weld them together without blowing out. Its not like welding two beer cans together but its not too far from it. All of the welding that is into the cab also requires two people, one welding and an observer with an extinguisher and some strong lungs. There is definately an element of risk unless a truck has already been gutted, no wiring, carpet, insulation etc.

    Hey

    I noticed that you have a ARE cap and a RTT. I called about one for my Tacoma, they said that I cant put a RTT without an internal rack to handle the weight. They claim that the ARE cap can only hold 150lbs. Have you had any problems or why are you not concerned? DO you know many others that use the caps with a RTT?

    I have not had any issues, no stress cracks of any sort. The shells are reinforced internally even without the internal skeleton they are referring to. I believe the tent is a bit under 150# as well. I have not heard of any issues from any other people either.
    I would say as an abundance of caution, if available, get the internal rack but I wouldn't make it a deal killer if its not available in the version you desire.

    I really like them, they allow flexibility for differing weights so they can be changed as your build changes. Adding and removing leafs makes it nice.
    They tow really well which I do a lot. I would say they do not flex quite as easily as some of the other springs available that don't have overloads but they do handle weight better than those w/o the overloads. The longevity seems to be very good, we've ran them on several vehicles and they seem to be doing great across the board.

    Hey Tyler, random question for you. I noticed the trimmed fender flares and was wondering if you could show the backside of the flare. They look very similar to Sean's (defcon) trim job and I know @Datsik had the stock flares trimmed before you took possession of the truck. What I'm curious about is how the flare is supported (if at all) or if they are just trimmed and left with the open gap leaving only the body clips to hold them in place. I've been considering trimming mine, but some members have said they loose rigidity (which is understandable) but I wonder how tolerable the floppy flares would be.

    Unfortunately I don't have the truck with me right now to take a picture. You may be able to see what you're looking for one page back in a couple pictures. I trimmed the stock fenders and flairs for Datsik when it was still his. The stock flairs do seem a bit floppy since there is little to no support. I have had trimmed stock flairs on a couple trucks now, they work but they are floppy. I chose to go with the bushwhackers so that I could bolt them up to the fender for rigidity. They are very rigid. The Bushwhackers have false screws that are just for looks, luckily most of them line up with the factory holes where the fender clips click in. I just went with longer hardware and bolted thru the fenders. I also used some small spacers between the fender and flairs so I could tighten them down without distorting the flair. I finished them off with some rubber trim. All of the hardware used to mount them is below. Hope this helps :cheers:

    Modifying the bushwackers for bolt on definitely increases the strength over stock but you do lose a little from wheel well liner/hardware removal.

    Thanks for posting up the part numbers, when I was sourcing hardware I couldn't find any with a black finish. Definitely going to replace them when I take them off to trim them again for a +2 kit, I hate the look of the plain stainless finish.

    Im impressed, they put a lot of time into the development of them and it shows. They were never really a tire company on my radar but I feel like they have come a long way and are making some really nice tires that hold their own right next to the other big brands.
    They have worn really well for about 10K now and are still very quiet on the road for and MT. Ive put them in mud, snow, rocks and sand. They do what an MT should, they clear in the mud, bite on the rocks, do well in the snow (*Disclaimer* as best as I can tell, I have very little snow wheeling experience) and they dig a bit more than Id like in the sand like any other MT.
