I have posted this in the Northern California thread and in the offroading thread with no replies, so now I figured I would repost here. I am planning a summer off-roading/camping trip in the Northern California area - up by Redding, I will start on the Hogsback trail to the Peligreen-Grapevine trail to the Ponderosa trail. About 80-90 miles overall. Plan on camping about mid-way. I have the Backcountry Adventure book and it lists the Hogsback and Ponderosa trail as pretty easy. But the Peligreen-Grapevine trail is listed as high moderate. I am just wondering if anyone has any experience or has driven the Peligreen-Grapevine trail and might be able to give me an idea of what it is like.

I know, right. With an overnight camping trip half way through. It is going to be a blast. I think 2 or 3 of my buddies are gonna come along for the trip too, with tacomas and jeeps.
