So far, I'm thinking that if I go with a "one tire fits all", I will go with the wrangler duratracs or Grabber AT2's... If I go winter/summer split, I'm leaning towards BFG mud terrains, and then for now, my current Big O Bigfoot AT's for winter until I can upgrade to a studded snow tire...

I have the BFG ATs in a 265/75/16D They must not be making them anymore. Weird

I wouldnt put any E rated tire on it. It will be way to stiff.

My other choices when I picked these were Bridgetone Revos, Nitto Terra Grappler and the General Grabber.

I run the General Grabber AT2s at 265/75-16...BADASS!!!!!!!! For the money they are great. They look good and they perform good. I would buy them again.

Discounttires.com I got 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers A/T Load D $138 each. Plus shipping from california to MD. Total 600 dollars. I LOVE them so far. Only have 500 miles on them so far. Traction is great. Hit some mud puddles today on the way home (nothing huge) but they tore up the dirt and mud and really had great traction in it. They are a little loud on the highway at high speeds but nothing you cant turn up your music a little louder.

    UPDATE:

I purchased (4) rims this evening off Craigslist...

Definitely going to purchase a Mud Terrain for the summer months...

So, let's switch gears to Mud Terrains...

BFG Mud Terrain KM or KM2?
    Goodyear Wrangler MT/R w/ kevlar?
    Cooper STT?
    Super Swamper SSR?
    MT Baja Claw Radial?
    Toyo Open Country MT?

I really like the Toyo Open Country MT, BFG's, and Wrangler MT/R's...

I went with the BFG AT 265/75/16 in the 10-ply (even though Toyota is still putting them on their FJ's Trail Team package in a D rating, we can't buy them?) with black lettering. I put about 1500 miles on the original set before switching to the new tires and felt no change at all in the on road ride quality when the tires were aired up per Toyota's specs for the oem size (around 32psi I think).

Last weekend I aired up to 40 psi all around as we have had several fluctuations in temperature ranging from 35-80 degrees in the past couple of weeks and did not want to deal with the TPMS. 5-8 lbs of pressure made a world of difference and the truck now bounces off every little bump and it feels quite...'truck-like'. On Friday I drove to work in some light mist and even lost traction taking off from a stoplight.

Long story short, correct tire pressure is key to any tire and these tires set at the correct tire pressure have been excellent.

the wrangler does not make a D range..

Either C or E, I might just go with C, the BFG that comes with my off-road package deal I think is C also.

im about to score some bridgestone revo's from costco... lol as lame as that sounds then have good warranty on their tires. plus they just started carrying them (bridgestones) and they are cheap and gonna get good deals.
