Penn State is gonna pay

It is all well and good and certainly deserved. One of my co-workers just mentioned the negative impact this will have on the other athletic programs at the university. That is a lot of student-athletes hurt by this.

 

Just found this thread, this whole story is sad. Shows how important money to a buisness is , and no matter who gets hurt, even children, they do not want to give it up. They are getting what they deserve IMO.

What blows my mind even more are the ones who walked in on this SICK FUCK, while he was abusing these kids, and they just walked the fuck back out!!! As a father of 2 sons, I can't even imagine what I would do, if somoene ever touched them, so with that said I could sympathise with another parent and hope if somoene seen this happen, they would stop it as I would.

The whole thing is sad.

Penn State has signed a consent decree with the NCAA.
Now can the Paterno family just shut the hell up & stop making fools of themselves?

I agree with it being unfair to the current student athletes at Penn State. They should allow them to transfer without penalty in my opinion.

I am a former Texas Football Coach and teacher and I think this punishment is just for a coach and school who lost their integrity.

 

I wonder what the fall out will be in regards to current students. There are LOT of people who are pissed off about this and might not hire a Penn State grad just because of it. It might be a stretch but I wouldn't be surprised if lawsuits of that nature start rolling in also.

 

I think that only the closed-minded would hold the football program mistakes against a graduate. Not the type one would want to work for anyway.

I agree and, even though I feel strongly about what happened there, wouldn't hold it against a student or graduate at all. That being said, there are quite a few unreasonable and ignorant people out there and, we've all seen lawsuits develop for dumber things...

 

Yep. All this because of one POS child molester and then a cover up. It's terrible; I feel bad for the victims.

I do not think that you need to resort to name calling. I simply pointed out that you were adding nothing but childish insults to the thread. There is no need to to call hundreds of thousands of innocent PSU grads and staff such things. This was a horrible offense committed by one and covered up by probably less than 12 people.
