Knees haha, but ya comfort is a secondary thought when sitting middle seat.

Still value the time sitting there. Not many will know what its like.

I've been driving this route for ten years, and most of it is turnpike driving...

 

Even has the same blanket on the seat my grandfather's farm truck did.

I love old jeeps, there’s a rotten Comanche in town I wish they’d fix.

Good old 4.0 though. I had an XJ years ago to have on my resume of cars.

 

4.0 in the mid-later years was a good engine... but the XJ had some turd engine options... the Buick V6 engine AMC bought to put in things, the Fiat Diesel, the 2.5 TorqueFlow, the 4.0 that had the Renix EFI system was unreliable, the 4.0 from 00-end of production had head cracking issues... there's a small window of post Renix and pre head cracking 4.0s that will likely outlive the end of the world and an even smaller window of 4.2HO engines pre Renix that may also outlive it all

 

I bought a 2000 XJ sport and didnt check the coolant because the lady selling it was a fire cracker 9/10 and my then girlfriend was burning a hole in the back of my head.

Did the headgasket in a weekend, no cracks thankfully. Served me well until the 3rd gen came out back then.

I worked on turbo and supercharged ones early in my career and they were all dogs. Better to have a stock engine thats slow than an expensive engine that barely makes 240hp.
