When I started the Mitsubishi rant/rave thread and started chatting about the Lancer Evo, you immediately chimed in with a picture of your own Subaru STi and said you believe the Subaru is a much better vehicle than the Mitsubishi; I would agree with you wholeheartedly, though the Evo is a still badass vehicle in its own right...

Alllllmost bought a crosstrek instead of my first Tacoma. I was moving up to Seattle, and needed to get rid of my Ram 1500 for something smaller. I liked the idea of the subaru being small, yet still capable enough to get outdoors. My parents have had a subaru since the 80's. When they wear one out they kept buying another one. Which was 3. In 30+ years lol. Gold star for reliability.

Anyways, I didn't really care for the interior, and the power train was a bit lacking when I test drove them.

I'm on my second Tacoma now, and my parents just traded in their last suby for a new Rav 4.

I like Subaru, and I'd LOVE to have an STi one day.

I was tempted by 0% financing and an employee discount when I was detailing cars at a dealership, but I ended up keeping my Tacoma...

I picked up an 03 H6 Outback sedan a while back it’s been a great car so far... but I think I’ve gotta replace the rack and pinion on the thing pretty soon.

I do not have any pictures of the Subaru Justy that I took myself, and I haven't personally seen one on the road in close to twenty years; I also had a hell of a time finding even one picture of a US-spec model online...

So far, this is the only picture I've been to find of a US-spec Justy!

What makes the Justy unique is that's the only 3-cylinder Subaru to be sold state side, and unlike other cars in its class, it had part-time 4WD (as opposed to the AWD system that all Subarus have today); When we lived in Oak Harbor, Washington one of the teachers at Oak Harbor Middle School (not one of my teachers) drove a gray or silver 5-door model like the one above. I had NEVER heard of or seen a Justy prior to that moment of time; I attended that middle school from September 2000 through June 2002, and this was car was probably about a 1990-1992 model, which means it was roughly the same age my Tacoma is now (My truck feels old)! It was absolutely immaculate from what I remember, but I looked close enough through the window one time to see that it only had an AM/FM radio and no A/C! From what I've been able to tell, A/C was available on the Justy since it likely would not have sold at all in America if it didn't, but with only about 80HP on tap, I'll bet that merging onto the highway with the A/C cranked were leisurely at best. The Justy from my middle school also had a manual transmission, with a red button on the gearshift that activated the 4WD system. One thing I love about the Northwest, having lived there for about two years, is that there a lot of fairly obscure or downright RARE vehicles still on the road there!

My Grandma had a silver 1987 Subaru Wagon that looked exactly like this one, except hers was not 4WD; I believe certain Subaru models came standard as front-wheel drive until about 1995, and with the exception of the BRZ (which is a Subie/Yota colab) all Subarus have been AWD since then...
