That looks quite small, dont think I've ever seen one before.

 

This turbocharged 3-cylinder made only 62HP from the factory, but the owner has modified to produce around 100HP. The car has all-wheel drive and a 5-speed manual transmission, and weighs less than a ton, so that horsepower isn't lacking as you might think!

This 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ES is a prime example of how boring the automaker's cars became after the turn of the century. The Montero was always a decent vehicle, but it never seemed competitive compared to Toyota and Nissan products. After 1999, the Eclipse became rather lackluster, and by 2003 the Lancer Evo was probably the only interesting car offered by Mitsubishi...

Jimneys are awesome, Monteros not so much.

I drove a jimney in Cuba, also a peugot 408 (still during us exception). I have a fond memory of the Jimney. I would love a micro 4x4.

My coworkers brother had a diesel pajero, nothing super special, but felt more purpose built than a montero.

 

The JDM Monteros are pretty cool in my opinion; I would totally buy a Jimny as a second vehicle. If you look closely, you will see an emissions test sticker on the silver 1996 Jimny, meaning that is actually passed emissions here in PA!

Going back to Mitsubishi, here's a Pajero Evolution that I saw at cars and coffee last July; I believe the owner told me it was a 1996, or possibly a 1997. It was initially imported into Canada from Japan, and the owner was in the process of titling and registering it in Pennsylvania. The A/C needed to be recharged, it was missing some of the front trim pieces, but this Pajero was otherwise in good condition.
