Let's see some pics of those Tacos in the snow!

    Here's mine!

BTW, I'd rather my truck be stuck (and safe) in my driveway, than smashed up and totaled on the side of the road in a snowbank somewhere...

I finally got us dug and plowed out! :D We were on the extreme north edge of the storm - and this is as bad as it got. This was taken about 1 PM yesterday afternoon. By 4 it had melted off the driveway and blown away. 1 mile south of us they had 2" and it increased from there.

I rear ended a Mustang last August and the damage was minor, but the horn was damaged and shorted out. As a result, it had to be replaced. This new horn has an interesting problem. Whenever it is below freezing, it becomes high-pitched and sounds like a clown car horn. Also, as I found out in this video, the horn only does this when the engine is running and sounds somewhat normal when the engine is off and the ignition key is turned to ACC.

The reason I did this in the gym parking lot is because I had a personal training session that I didn't want to be late for. I also wanted to show that simply running the engine and driving, and causing the engine to generate heat, won't make the horn function normally...

I also happened to pull up just as one of the heat pumps at the gym was going into a defost cycle. I got my start on YouTube doing HVAC videos. Before I got the Tacoma... Hell, before I even had my learner's permit (much less my driver's license), I was making HVAC videos. Defrosting heat pumps have always been fun to watch in my opinion. So, enjoy!

Don't be fooled by the video title. There is plenty of footage of the truck's horn problem fairly early on in the video...

    http://www.torquenews.com/1083/toyota-tacoma-catalytic-converter-rattle-warranty-extension

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1PUI3HH0Qc

So, we recently got a letter in the mail saying there was a recall on certain Toyota models and that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Click the link above and read the article, and watch the video in the link below that (video courtesy of Toyota Headquarters). Toyota calls this a warranty enhancement and not a recall, because the problem is more of an annoyance than a safety issue. Basically, the problem is that the guts of the catalytic converter can deteriorate over time and cause a distinctive rattle. The recall affects approximately 170,000 2010-2013 Tacomas with the 2.7L engine. Anyway, since the truck is in the shop for a voluntary recall and NOT routine maintenance or something I caused, I get a free loaner vehicle while my truck is getting fixed. My truck also needs an oil change and some other routine stuff that comes with being a nearly 7-year old vehicle with almost 60,000 miles, so I figured I'd get that all done while I have a free loaner so I don't have to share the Murano with my mom. Anyway, I got a 2015 Camry (pictured below) with less than 12,000 miles on it.

I was just wondering how many other people's Tacomas were affected by this recall?
