    The centers of both front rims are almost too hot to touch, due to heat from brakes.

    My friend, who is also a mechanic, has his own shop. I bring my truck to him for damn near everything now. He works out of a large 1-car garage (2 if one vehicle is on the lift) and is able to keep costs low due to low rent and having no employees.

    I’m bringing my truck in at 8:30am tomorrow.

    I would also like to point out that my truck did not do this when the front brakes were almost completely shot.

    The reason this happened is because my truck passed inspection in October 2017 and the front brakes were at 50%. In February-March 2018, it started making these awful noises and I brought it in. Imagine my shock when the dealer told me my front brakes were pretty much gone. The winter of 2017-2018 was particularly brutal and I’m pretty sure that this had something to do with the caliper seizing.

    Some heat buildup is normal. You probably need a front brake job if the hubs (the centers of the wheels) are too hot to touch.

    Not the hubs, the wheels...

    The hubs are not really hot at all. The brakes only have about 14K on them. How could I need a brake job?
