Heat wave and higher humidity? It takes a lot of BTUs to condense water vapor into water, to lower humidity. Not cooling well is a common complaint under those conditions.

I keep a folded black towel stuffed up there to block off the vents. Been doing this since new. Living in Florida, I have this problem every morning I drive the truck except in the cold of winter, you know, those 2.5 days a year it's cold here.

I think I'd just throw a couple of paint stir sticks up there.

So, I did have this happen to me tonight. I'm currently in Florida, rained all day, now it's humid AF. I guess the humidity just doesn't get this bad in New England

Garmin one road GPS . Two different units. CB, Roof Rack with custom Tent mounts. Traction Boards. Bliston Shocks.
Depends on the driver. I' put 890 thousand on a Peterbilt clutch.
What gets a clutch is racing it banging it, and of course riding it. I'm on the surf fishing NC web sight first thing those boys ask me was was I going to supercharge it. I don't need power to play on the beach. Leaving it alone. Had a throw out bearing go on my old dodge 3500 . Clutch was fine, just replaced the bearing I sold it with 164000 miles on it pulled that 48 foot race trailer . That is a lot more strain than a upgrade on a stock clutch.
ON the corvette forum there guys with 300 and 400,000 on their C5 vettes. They don't race them. LS1 with a 6 speed driving normal would get in the high 20s on millage. Drove to ohio got 28 mpg with mine when it was stock at 75 and 78 mph. 6 speed in my old c5 but nothing was stock lone and clutch was one of the first things to be changed out. Sold the old 48 foot went to a wrapped trailer was taking everything out of the 48.
Here is one for you guys. Got better fuel millage with the 48 than I do this new 32 Tag . 32 is higher. Pulls more wind. Got 10 and with the 48, 8 with the new 32.

Only have 114 on my 06 but clutch feels good, Its a beach truck with a whole lot of drag going through that sand, pick your gear to start with and leave it there. Changing gears with a 6 speed pushing sand that will work heavy on a clutch. You guys know, you have to quick shift in sand and your going to bang it any way you get it in a different gear. I actually like third in low range in the sand. More torque feeling and truck don't jump as much as it does in 4x4 high. I can run 25 mph not killing the RPMs and don't have to change gears. Reverse is slow.. LOL but forward is cool..

You drive it normal a clutch will last you a lone time.

This happens on mine often. When conditions are right it can be really bad. At night, in conditions you wouldn't foresee, fog will form on the outside and increase without you being aware until you realize you can't see well. You would think you have run into a fog bank but a swipe of the wipers clears it. It is not unique to Tacoma's , I've had it on other vehicles.

No need to thank me - it was my honor to serve.
A couple post after yours is one @Liveaboard74 made. He was spot on with his advice on never racing it, banging it, or riding it. I am always extra careful to not slip my clutch. I stall often, well more not stalling than do - but I still will every once in a while. It's annoying, it's embarrassing, but it paid off in the life of my clutch. Positive engagement as quick as you can - and keep running - but don't bang it.

I have discussed my Grandma's Lexus on TW before. It's a 2002 RX300 Coach Edition FWD. She bought it new in Florida (which is why it lacks AWD and heated seats). It only has 87K original miles and has proven to be a great vehicle. My Grandma moved form Pennsylvania to Florida, where she plans to buy a new vehicle. She sold it to my dad's friend who lives in Kentucky, and he is driving it back home to Kentucky in about a week.

When the Lexus is left for weeks or even just days at a time, the battery dies. It just got a brand new battery, and it's still dying. My dad had to jump it with his Yukon when they went to my grandma's house to pick it up. A warning light shows up on the dash saying that a light bulb in one of the taillights is burnt out, but upon inspection, there are no lights burned out. Could there possibly be a connection between this warning light and the battery dying?!?!
