1994-1996 Dakotas with the 3.9L V6 had 175hp instead of 1992-1993's 180, and the 5.2L V8s had 225hp instead of 230. I believe someone told me it was due to a change in the manifold design...

I remember Dodge and Plymouth using VW engines for awhile in the late 70s or early 80s

They're everyone's grey market bitch. Even the cheapest Japanese manufacturer was coming out with better engines than late 70s and early to mid 80s american stuff... with exception to the performance divisions and platforms...

The 1987-1991 3.9L was gutless, producing just 125hp. The 1992-1993 models produced a much more respectable 180hp.

Even the Hyundai Excel used Mitsubishi engines! I've heard that the first generation of Excel was worse than Yugo in terms of reliability!

Hyundai was really bad up until about 2000 and some models in the early 90s had exceptions... Like the first gen Elantra has the famous 4G63 evo motor in it (minus turbo of course). Pretty neat actually

What do you mean, grey market imports are import brands rebranded as domestics for sale. Emissions has nothing to do with it even though the Japanese were better at it because they've had tighter emissions than us for a while.

Why would they put a Japanese engine in a Korean econobox? More importantly, why didn't Mazda put its own engine in the B-series?

Neat, 2006 is getting pretty old now... 13 years. Everything dies sometime, but Hyundai and KIA are pretty solid contenders nowadays

I knew Hyundai has a heavy industry department that makes trucking trailers and lifts and diggers.... but apparently KIA does too because at my work we have a massive KIA horizontal mill

Look for it in this thread; Based on the fact that it had it had a deployed airbag and no engine, I'd say it was in a front end collision and the engine was still good, and someone took it for their Sonata...

This Jeep from Delaware (note the license plate) was one of two out-of-state abandoned vehicles I found (the other being a Lincoln Continental from Virginia)...

This 2003 Lincoln Town Car had extremely minor front end damage and a deployed airbag, but that's not why it's here...

We have another victim of the revenue generating extortion agency known as the parking authority!
