READ THIS PEOPLE, STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY.

Does Brand Matter When Buying Motor Oil?
A lot of people have a misconception that more famous brands have better quality motor oil and they usually pay a lot just for the brand name. This may not be true and a recent analysis performed by Blackstone Laboratories indicate that all motor oils are interchangeable

@HomerTaco, one of the things I love about my grille is how easy it is to zip-tie a holiday decoration to it!

As usual, my holiday spirit carries over to my truck!

Really this all depend upon product/brand. Again at the end of the day regardless what oil it is, oil is still cheaper than an engine.

Did you really start a new oil thread? Almost 20K posts on here and you still haven’t figured it out?

    OME and worth every penny.
This is really pretty good advise. Lots of industrial apps. use hours and those motors/engines in many cases just run wide open under load when in use. Kind of like boats. Since we don't use that way this seem like a pretty good way around it.

Chevrolets come with an hour meter. Big trucks use them also. 10K hours before overhaul is what we used to look for on boats.

Depends. As there are no regulations related to what qualifies an oil as synthetic. Some oils labeled synthetic are not 100% synthetic, where others are. Pretty much it is left up to manufacturer.

My 2017 3500HD Silverado calls for an oil change every 7,500 miles, 300 engine hours or once per year. If you follow the oil life monitor it will let it go close to 500 engine hours between oil changes.
