Unless there's a human that's gonna feed it, the mama bird ain't gonna feed it. Once a human scent is on its baby, it's dead to her. Then again, it might've already been if you found it on the ground like that.

 

Think the first point is a myth. The second though is right on. It was probably bumped from the nest by a sibling or momma because it was weak and underdeveloped. Or other birds knocked it out when they destroyed the nest. Either way the odds of it making if put back in the nest were really low.

Not true birds can't smell, if wild turkeys could smell as good as they can see and hear there never would be a turkey killed by hunters

 

I guess this would make sense. The person that told me this myth was probably high to begin with.
