I don't think so but the damn thing was at least 6 feet long and was striking at her, she was bee-bopping and hopping around trying to get at the back of the snakes head.

One time in 1999, when we were living in Virginia Beach, we had a water moccasin in our front yard and the damn thing was standing it's ground...

Our neighbor, a former Navy SEAL, came over and made short work of it with a shovel!

By looking at the dash, I am guessing this is a 40's or 50's vehicle.

EDIT: Looks like the floormats say 1951.

Most importantly, I feel like my life has dead-ended and I feel a bit depressed.

I am at a cross-roads with regards to whether or not I want become an HVAC technician or stick with my dad’s company long term.

    I am almost 30 and...

    • I’ve never had a relationship with a woman that’s lasted more than a few months.
    • I’ve never had a job that I would consider a career.
    • Really don’t know what I want to do with my life.
    • Have hardly any money at the moment.
    • Have never been in debt beyond a few hundred dollars on my credit card (that’s probably a good thing; my credit score is great!)
    • Still live my parents, rent free (All of my friends who have rent or a mortgage say I should milk this arrangement for all it's worth).

@Running Man was saying that his job sucked...

Before I got my current job, I was seriously considering a job at AutoZone.

James, why do you think your job sucks?

I don’t know enough about AutoZone to form an opinion, from what I found out through online research, it would seem that starting pay is less than $10 an hour. I haven’t made less than $10 an hour since I worked at Dunkin Donuts in October 2013, and I seriously just quit that job after like three weeks.

In the job descriptions on their website, Autozone emphasizes providing “Wow! Customer Service”. WTF is that? I can provide excellent customer service, but what is “Wow! Customer Service”? Sounds like an obnoxious gimmick to me. They also expect you have a flexible work schedule. The older I get, the less and less appealing that sounds to me. When I was working at Puck, I’d work practically every weekend (even Sunday) unless I had a family gathering or a car show to go to. My boss was very big on spending time with family, so she’d never hesitate to give me up to a week off to spend time with family.

I’m sure there were times she’d rather I work at Puck instead of galavanting off to car shows for entire weekends, but I put in a lot of hours and was blindly loyal to the business, so I think that’s a big reason why she was so willing to let me go to car shows during the summer.

One of the things I hate about retail is that the schedule isn’t structured. I prefer a job where you know what your hours and schedule are, but they can ask you to come in and work an evening shift or a Saturday shift at a moment’s notice!

As I’ve said before, I routinely worked evenings and weekends at Puck, but 99% of the time I always had something to do and shifts went by quickly. Very rarely is there ever a dull moment working at a bar! There were also times when my boss would let me clock in and sit around for two hours or so just to wait for a UPS delivery!

The problem is that unless you own the bar and really know how to make it profitable, there isn’t a career in the bar business. My boss herself even says that the service industry is a dead-end job. Working at a bar will always be a good side gig though. My former boss's fiancé is a high school gym teacher, but he still bartends on Fridays and weekends to make extra money, and makes a fortune doing it! Ditto to barbacking if you really know what you’re doing! One guy I know is probably making close to six figures at his engineering job, but for a time he’d come back to barback at Puck on weekends for extra money. Ain’t nothing wrong with that!
