So I told my friend why was there, and he commented that it was amazing I was still working for her even though Puck was closed...

It’s not what he said, but the condescending tone in which he said it! One of the problems people with AS have is that they can unintentionally come across as a dick without meaning to or realizing it. I am still guilty of this sometimes!

Something that has been a source of friction between us for years is that I am a very popular guy among certain groups of people in Doylestown, and my friend has flat out said that he is jealous of this fact.

People love me; I am very extroverted and social by ASD standards, even high-functioning Aspergers standards. I honestly have no idea why specifically people love me so much; I just try to be myself at all times and it works. My lovable and outgoing personality has opened many doors for me over the years, and yes, it gives me advantages that some people do not have. I do not go out of my way to be nice, it’s the way I am. I can be a nice guy without faking it; Everything about me is 100% Charlie!

Don’t get me wrong, my friend is a nice guy, but he led a much more sheltered life than I did and is much less streetsmart...

While I am outgoing, extroverted, and lovable, he is gruff, introverted, and rather unpleasant at times.

The only time I ever see this friend is when we go to movies (with another friend present), and when I invite him to MY social gatherings; He has not been invited to the last couple social gatherings (most notably a 30th birthday party) partially because of past behaviors. I can’t go over to his house anymore because he has cats and I’m allergic; My allergies actually got worse between 2009 and 2012 because I spent so much time there!

99% of the time he just sits around doing nothing and/or goes on his laptop when invited to parties, and doesn’t socialize with the other people. He also annoys other partygoers with his “mother hen” mentality, most recently during my 30th birthday party at another friend’s house in the Poconos when he attempted to lecture the group about drinking alcohol after 11pm.

My friend is also one of the most clueless drivers I know...

I have been to my other friend Mike’s parents’ Pocono house three times (January 2018, March 2019, and July 2019). My other friend came along on the first two. The first time, in January 2018, he drove his car to my friend’s parents’ house here in Bucks County, but opted to leave it there and go with my friend and his sister in her car. He couldn’t leave his car in the driveway all weekend, so he had to back it out and parked it in the street.

Luckily for both of us, I happened to be sitting in my truck with door open when he started backing out of the driveway...

My truck was parked on the right side of the driveway, and he was on left; He had the wheel turned all the way to the left and started backing out. His 2011 Altima has a backup camera, and as is the usually the case with less-experienced drivers in vehicles with backup camera, he was paying attention to where the rear of his car was going but not the front.

I was looking at him, and at that angle, he was destined to catch the right side of his front bumper on the left corner of my rear bumper and tear his bumper completely off. I’ve replayed that incident in my head numerous times and do not believe any damage would have occurred to my truck aside from some scratches and paint transfer...

I jumped out from behind the wheel of my truck and started screaming at him to stop; He initially did not respond and kept going. Only a few seconds passed it, but it felt like an eternity. He stopped and looked at me briefly, but then continued to back up in his current position...

I finally got him to stop without making contact with my truck and guided him out of the driveway safely.

I can tell you from experience that I do not respond well to being screamed at, especially in tedious situations like when I’m behind the wheel of a 2-ton lethal weapon. Having Aspergers no doubt exacerbates this...

When multiple people are screaming at me at once, or even just barking orders at me in a reasonably civilized tone, the outcome is rarely good...

A few years back, I succeeded in making my 70-something grandmother angry enough drop an F-bomb as a result of yelling at her and my cousin to shut up when they were both bitching at me about an uncleared place at the kitchen table. My cousin, who was present for the incident and is a school psychologist partially as a result of growing up with me, referred to this as “sensory overload” and took my side after carefully assessing the situation.

One thing I have a huge problem with is when people give an attitude or try to start shit over something petty (I’ve been guilty of the second one myself), and I am slowly but surely working on this.

One noteworthy example of this would be when I was delivering pizzas in the summer of 2015; My truck was in the body shop (my truck ended up in the body shop three times in 2015, and two of those accidents were not my fault), and I was delivering pizzas in my mom’s 2013 Nissan Murano.

I was in a then-new subdivision of both single-family homes on really tiny lots, and townhomes/condos; I was having trouble finding the specific house because it was nighttime and the neighborhood was poorly lit.

Some asshole in a Ford Fusion roared up behind me and laid on their horn because they thought I was going too slow. I promptly stuck my left arm out the window and flipped them off, then sped up a little bit when I realized the house I was looking for was not on that street. Even though they’d started it, the person in the Fusion decided to chase me for giving them the bird; They turned around and disappeared right before I got to the customer’s house...

I am very empathetic to people who are lost and will give them the benefit of the doubt when they are just driving slowly; One thing that irks me to no end is when people lose their situational awareness and stop in the middle of a major thoroughfare to ask for directions; Even more galling is when two people going in opposite directions stop in the middle of the road to chat!

I do this from time to time, but I constantly look behind me to make sure nobody is coming, and to date I have never been beeped at...

One time when we still lived in Furlong, I believe I was coming home from work at night, and these two women in SUVs going opposite directions decided to stop and chat; I knew exactly what was about to happen before it actually happened, and as soon as they stopped I laid on my horn...

One of them women looked back at me and gave me a “WTF?” look, but got going again in a matter of seconds.

I was not in the mood to turn around in someone’s driveway and take the longer alternate route to my house, nor was I in the mood to wait so these two soccer moms could have a gossip session the in the middle of the street!

I currently live in a culdesac, which means there is one way in and one way out; The neighborhood was still under construction, for about a year after we moved in, and this one time in 2016 I came home from work to find two HVAC vans blocking the street. The drivers had been going in opposite directions (one entering and one leaving the culdesac) and stopped to chat. The problem was that they did not have the common courtesy to pull out of the way and were blocking the only path to my house. I laid on my horn until they moved; My parents were on very friendly terms with the general manager of the construction site, and I later found out that one of the HVAC guys had complained about a guy in a silver Toyota pickup beeping at him...

Seriously?!?! How about you don’t block my culdesac just to engage in idle chitchat, ya jerk?!?! Nothing ever came of that, and I had one other confrontation with construction workers over blocking the street to engage in “idle chitchat” (after the first one) before the manager told his employees to
stop blocking the street unless absolutely necessary...

NOTE: If construction workers and/or construction vehicles were blocking a street to engage in jobs pertinent to building houses, I never had a problem. I routinely got stuck behind skidsteers and backhoes that were hauling heavy loads, and it was not uncommon for me to have to take the long way out of the neighborhood because a cement truck was pouring a foundation and blocking the street in the process. Blocking a public street just to chat, however, is unacceptable in book!

There is this area in front of Puck on Printers Alley that has been officially designated a NO PARKING zone. Before I started working there and brought the Tacoma along, the regular “errand vehicle” was a 1999 GMC Safari SLE AWD with a custom Puck wrap. It was essentially a mobile billboard for the venue, and it was appropriately named the “Puck Van”. We got away with parking the Puck Van in the NO PARKING zone because it was an official Puck vehicle and all the cops knew the owners...

I was allowed to park my truck in this area for loading and unloading purposes since I was an employee, as were other employees...

One time, both my truck and the Puck van were parked in this zone. My boss and I happened to be out there at the same time when some guy and his girlfriend in an Altima showed up. They guy proceeds to meticulously parallel park his car in front of the Puck Van. We were to mesmerized by his cluelessness to stop him before he parked his car.

Just as he was about to get out of the car, my boss explained that the Puck Van was a company vehicle and that I was an employee unloading his truck, but that nobody was technically allowed to park there. She apologized to the guy for the trouble he went through, and he drove off without incident.

On Saint Patrick’s Day in 2017, I was working the night shift at Puck, and I parked my truck in Printers Alley to unload supplies (likely ice, but I don’t remember because this was almost three years ago). All of the parking enforcement guys in Doylestown Borough know my truck, as do most of the cops. At least two of the parking guys and most of the cops also know that I work at Puck.

On St. Pat’s in 2017, one of the cops who did not know me or my truck drove down Printers Alley. We had just gotten a substantial late winter snowstorm and there was a ton of snow still on the ground; This greatly reduced space in the alley and made it all but impossible for two normal-sized vehicles, like a Toyota pickup and a typical police car, to be in the alley at the same time. Normally it was possible for one vehicle to pass another vehicle in the alley, but the snow...

    :annoyed:

So, my theory is that this was a new guy or one of the part-time/reserve officers; He didn’t recognize my truck, and this didn’t know it belonged to a Puck employee, and assumed to belonged to some random inconsiderate asshole. The cop got pissed that he couldn’t fit his Crown Vic down the alley, and was about to write me a $50 parking ticket when the bouncers stopped him and told him that the truck belonged to one of the barbacks who’d just come back from running errands for the bar. The cop backed out of the alley and went the other way, and I moved my truck to its legal parking space minutes later...

I was in a bad mood that night, and if it weren’t for the bouncers having my back, I probably would have walked out to find a cop writing me a ticket for what I saw as doing my job and ended up with a citation for disorderly conduct after voicing my opinion...

I don’t have anything against the police; I just got set into the routine laid out for me by my employer and saw my boss’s word as law.

So many less-than-desirable scenarios have unfolded on Printers Alley, two involving me and my truck...

The reason I hate showing ID in numerous situations has almost nothing to do with privacy; I get enough spam phone calls from people and/or organizations I’ve NEVER heard of that seem to have information I don’t remember making public to know that my info is out there.

I get so pissed off about showing ID outside of certain situations (getting pulled over by police, boarding a commercial flight, purchasing alcohol at a place where I’m not a regular customer, etc) because I got stopped by police for taking pictures back in 2013 for taking pictures in public and was interrogated by the side of the road for like 20 minutes; Getting asked for ID triggers a very sore memory for me, and it’s something I’ve eased up about but which still pisses me off.

I refuse to buy age-restricted products at certain places because they card you every time even if you’re a regular customer and they know you are way beyond the legal age to purchase certain age-restricted items.

Back when i delivered pizzas i came across many asshats but 2 really stand out:
There was no one directly behind me so I pulled over to the curb to ask a woman for directions to a street, guy is literally 1/2 mile down the road behind me and holds his hand on the horn and floors it, gets behind me with the horn still blowing and stays on my bumper with the horn blaring for at least another mile.
Next, they were short handed at another store and I am not familiar with the area but agree, it happens to be Halloween so there are kids everywhere and all the houses are lit up making it even harder to see addresses. As soon as I turn onto a street some asshole parent pulls out a giant spotlight that was about equivalent to a landing light from an aircraft and aims it right in my face and holds it there as I am trying to drive down the street looking for the house.

Delivering food is one of those things I largely despise, but whether I like it or not I am good at it and tend to make a killing doing it...

I had fun doing it for the most part, lots of good ones too that balanced out the asshats. No joke, l had a delivery to an Orgy, lots of sexy naked women and one did something pretty hard core that I will not mention on the main forum.
