    On another note...

You've probably heard a song called "Once Bitten Twice Shy" by a 1980s rock band called Great White?

I LOVE that song! Great White is far from being my favorite band, but that song has been my all-time favorite since late 2012! Have you ever played it in your 1992 Mustang?

I blew a door speaker this Summer, I can only go so high on the volume before it flutters so I need to snag some speakers sometime over the Winter.

I do not know why I love the song so much...

The original was written and performed by English singer Ian Hunter in the 1970s, but the Great White version was released in 1989 (the year I was born) and went triple platinum if my memory serves me. The remake seems to be better-known!

Kinda pisses me off that it blew when it did as I had the door apart about a month prior because the door actuator was froze up and needed replaced.

As I said above, I don't know why I love Once Bitten Twice Shy so much, but I do...

The Great White remake was released in 1989, the year I was born...

I know that I heard that song on the radio more than once in the 1990s and early 2000s, but I truly "discovered" it the first I time played the original Saints Row in September 2012 or so. I would have played Saints Row a lot sooner, but the original game was exclusive to the Xbox 360 and released at a time when I only had a PS2. For those of you who do not know (and some people shockingly don't), Saints Row is like a much less realistic but much more fun version of Grand Theft Auto. My friend Mike brought over his Xbox 360 and we played it on my dad's 61-inch TV.

If I had to guess where I heard "Once Bitten Twice Shy" for the very first time, it was probably on the radio in my dad's 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer (which he bought new in 1993 and had until 1996). My dad will freely admit that he likes the song, but not enough that he went out and bought a Great White cassette or CD back in the day. If I'd heard the song on the radio and asked for the original Twice Shy album, knowing my dad, he probably would have bought it for me.

So, the first time I truly became infatuated with this song was when I heard it on an in-game car radio in Saints Row, in 2012. I listened to the song at least five times while my friend was over, and then I looked up the lyrics online and bought the song on iTunes. I finally bought the remastered album on CD at Best Buy in March 2013, about a month before my Taco got its first stereo upgrade.

    Complete and correct lyrics:

Well the times are gettin' hard for you little girl
I'm a hummin' and a strummin' all over God's world
You can't remember when you got your last meal
And you don't know just how a woman feels

You didn't know what rock and roll was
Until you met my drummer on a gray tour bus
I got there in the nick of time
Before he got his hands across your state line, yeah

Now it's the middle of the night on the open road
The heater don't work and it's oh so cold
You're lookin' tired, you're lookin' kinda beat
The rhythm of the street sure knocks you off your feet

You didn't know how rock and roll looked
Until you caught your sister with the guys from the group
Halfway home in the parking lot
By the look in her eye she was givin' what she got

I said my, my, my, I'm once bitten twice, shy babe
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice shy baby
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice shy baby

Oh, woman you're a mess, gonna die in your sleep
There's blood on my amp and my Les Paul's beat
Can't keep you home, you're messin' around
My best friend told me you're the best lick in town

You didn't know that rock and roll burned
So you bought a candle and you lived and you learned
You got the rhythm, you got the speed
Mama's little baby likes it short and sweet

I said my, my, my, I'm once bitten twice, shy babe
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice shy baby
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice shy baby

    Alright!

I didn't know you had a rock and roll record
Until I saw your picture on another guy's jacket
You told me I was the only one
But look at you now, it's as dark as it's dawn

Oh, my, my, my, I'm once bitten twice, shy babe
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice shy baby
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice shy baby
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice, shy babe
My, my, my, I'm once bitten twice shy

My favorite "roll down the windows and crank it up" songs, when I'm driving my Taco...

"Once Bitten Twice Shy" - Great White
"Bat Out Of Hell" - Meat Loaf
"You Took The Words Right Out of My Mouth" - Meat Loaf
"Paradise By The Dashboard Light" - Meat Loaf
"If I Could Turn Back Time" - Cher
"All I Needed Was You" - Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes
"Sharp Dressed Man" - ZZ Top
"Gimme All Your Lovin" - ZZ Top
"Money For Nothing" - Dire Straits

The list goes on and on, but those songs immediately come to mind!
