Probably about as reliable as a Yugo too...

Actually, more reliable than a Yugo, but rustier than a Tacoma frame!

I have a small piece of the Berlin Wall in my collectibles box in my shipping container. I also have a sig sauer stamped West Germany made in the 1970’s

One time I found an accordion at a flea market that had been made in East Germany.

For the most part I stay out of there. Unless there’s a technical question I can answer.

Good luck getting it into America; Even the new ones...
    • Don't have airbags (required in the US since 1998)
    • Don't have a backup camera (required by US federal law in all passenger vehicles under 10,000 pounds GVW since 2017)
    • Won't pass federal emissions in the US
The new Lada Nivas do have air-conditioning, power windows, and decent stereo systems, but they are still rather primitive even compared to my 10-year old base model Taco! It's 2020, so a Lada Niva 1995 or older could be legally imported into the US and registered as an antique...

Also, I've seen the horsepower ratings for the Niva's 4-banger, and it seems like it would be similar to four of these little guys running on exercise wheels beneath the hood!

Well, I'm starting the new year off on Weight Watchers, because being unemployed for two months last summer actually caused me to gain weight and now I need to lose it!

And your state's the worst of all for car enthusiasts! By the way, my cousin and her family used to live in San Mateo; Now they live in Lafayette!

If I lived in Russia, a Lada Niva is probably what I'd be driving; They are insanely affordable, they comes with a decent stereo system, and air-conditioning is now standard! I could buy a new one for less than what my Tacoma is presently worth!

They've been in production since the late 1970s and the basic design hasn't really changed it all; They continue to sell in droves!
