And is that also how I check for wiring? By popping that plastic plate off the side of the steering wheel?

One thing that I love about my truck, and that still amazes me, is how easy is to take things apart and put them back together again; It's almost comparable to a LEGO set!

I agree with all of you that the bulbar would have looked hideous though...

So I was waiting at a red light today, less than half an hour ago; I heard a noise like something being thrown at my truck, and then moments later something started to "pulsate" (That's the best way I can describe it). It did not feel like something specifically with the engine, but rather like something non-mechanical had come loose and was being thrashed about or vibrated by the idling of the engine. I shifted in park and then back into drive, and it made it go away somewhat, but not entirely...

I accelerated when the light turned green, and my truck ran and drove fine; I pulled over upon entering my neighborhood maybe a mile and a half later at most, and the truck was idling just fine. Upon arriving home, I popped the hood and checked the oil level (after this week's "quart low" scare); The oil level is normal!

    So...

    :notsure:

I've had my truck more than a decade; In that time many interesting "behavioral quirks" have manifested themselves and then disappeared just as quickly! This has included the Auto-LSD light illuminating for seemingly no reason and then going away when the truck was shut off and then restarted...

If this pulsating/thunking comes back, I will post a thread about this in the 2nd Gen forum; If not, I'll just write it off as another one of those "behavioral quirks"!

The electronic booster makes my truck jolt from time to time when it turns on when the key is in the ignition

Very intersting. I have no clue what that would be, my ranger had "behavioral quirks" once in a while as well.

No, the booster is what gives you power brakes, manual brakes have no booster.
