Yeah they called it the star card when I was there. Wasnt able to get it either cause I have to order a birth certificate...

 

Apparently I can use my passport to get one here!

 

I don't have one of those either.

 

I have my birth certificate and my passport; I can use the Tacoma's registration and insurance card card as my two proofs of residency!

 

Maybe? Would explain a lot actually...

 

It is such a pain in the ass to get a driver's license!

 

You just have to get a renewal license don't you? Why so hard to get?

 

I last got my license renewed in 2019, but the problem is that it was right before they started issuing Real ID licenses; As such, it is of the new style, but not real ID compliant...

This is the pre-2018 license, which had been around since at least the early 2000s; My first two licenses (issued in 2011 and 2015) looked like this...

 

This is the new license, which they started issuing in 2017 or 2018, and I got mine in 2019...

However, like I said, they were not issuing the Real ID licenses yet; In addition to my current license, I have to show my passport or my birth certificate, two proofs of residency, and my social security card!

This is after I've been in the system as a licensed driver for almost nine years!



I also believe I have to get fingerprinted! I could stick with a regular license, as a Real ID is not required, but I want to get this over with because I'm not gonna have my military ID forever...

 

Get all your stuff and get it done! If you have everything you need then I'd take a day, go early and get it done. I don't fly hardly ever so I'm not stressing on it yet.

Tell me about. Got to the Oregon DMV to update my address on my license a half hour early and I was 15th in line.

 

If you have a passport then you really don’t need a Real ID update right away

 

Hawai’i had it for a few years, Oregon won’t have it till July. I have no plans on getting one right away since I have my military and passport already.

 

Also you don’t need to be finger printed for a Real ID.

 

My passport expires in a year though!
