I bought the original PS3 version of The Last of Us back in 2014 not long after it came out and absolutely loved it; I beat the game and haven’t played it in at least five years, then I bought a PS4 in November 2016 and haven’t played the PS3 since...

I picked up this remastered version of the hit game sometime last year but haven’t had time to play it until now!

And the PS4 does not appear to have been damaged when I spilled water on it several weeks ago!

I have that game on PS4 too, was stuck in a spot where I was hanging upside down. One of the Ex GF's kids got past it for me but don't think I played much more after.

What appears to be a burned out Tacoma in concept art for The Last of Us Part II; Can't tell if it's a 2nd Gen or 3rd Gen, but it's likely a 2nd Gen since the outbreak started in September 2013...

It looked immediately to me like 2nd gen lines. I look at my 3rd gen a lot and there not the same.

Del-Val University closed; I could have driven around the campus (unlike Bucks the other day), but I didn’t want to attract attention from the campus rent-a-cops...

For whatever reason I got stuck there, think I was hanging next to an old refrigerator or something, glad you got past there so easily!

The Last of Us is just a video game, a work of fiction, but the developers did such a great job that I was actually feeling emotions when I played the original PS3 version back in 2014.

The game is somewhat open world, not to the extent that Grand Theft Auto is, but it allows you to explore; This is totally optional, but pretty much obligatory because exploring long-abandoned homes and businesses allows you to find supplies, weapons, and ammo.

In the town of Lincoln, Massachusetts, you can explore several abandoned houses and an apartment; The game was released in late 2013, so it only makes sense that that game begins in September 2013. Most of the game, however, takes place from the summer of 2033 to the spring of 2034; Twenty years later! Obviously, houses will be in need of some serious work after two decades of neglect, and most of them would likely be teardowns.

You start out in Boston, and while fleeing the city, you go through the bombed out ruins of a very nice apartment building; You can see someone’s family photo on a table, and you can also find notes in drawers. What I found amazing was that so many plasma TVs were still mounted to walls after the buildings were bombed!

Lincoln, a few miles North of Boston, was once a thriving and relatively affluent community; As stated in the previous post, you get to explore three houses and an apartment. All of these places are remarkably intact, though the power has been out for the better part of two decades; As a result, there was no heat or A/C; Two decades of harsh New England winters and freeze/thaw cycles have caused pipes to burst, followed by inevitable water damage. Windows get broken, and no doubt the extreme weather of summer and winter caused serious deterioration.

My guess would be that if power were returned to any of these places, lights and kitchen appliances would actually work, but there would be no running water. Some of the TVs and stereos might actually turn on as well...

One house that really brought out my emotions was this large colonial-type house across from the high school you go in; Going upstairs brings you to three bedrooms, two of which can be entered...

One bedroom is obviously the master, and features a large bed along with a crib and a car seat. The second bedroom was obviously the family’s older son’s, featuring a bunk bed, car-themed wall paper, and toy trucks. The boy’s diary can be found on a desk near the window, and in it, he details the last week or so leading up to his family’s evacuation; The buses intended to evacuate the residents of Lincoln to nearby quarantine zones are still parked outside the high school, obviously having never left. A rusted family sedan can be found in the driveway, and suitcases can be seen in both bathrooms, indicating that the family fell victim to the infected...
