Once when we went to Mexico my friend who was riding with me asked how I converted from mph to kph on the speedometer. I pointed to the kph scale inside the mph scale. This was remarkable because he had a truck exactly like mine.

Among other things, yes; The plague, STDs, frostbite, vivisection, amputation...

Not just Chinese, either; Koreans, Soviets, Brits, and I'm pretty sure a few Americans...

My dad loves Toyotas, but in almost 40 years our family has only owned three of them...

The first was a 1983 Celica GT that he bought brand new not long after he joined the Navy, owned until 1989...

The second was a 1990 Toyota Camry LE V6 that my parents bought brand new, and was my mom's daily driver from 1990 until we sold it 1998...

The third was my 2010 Tacoma, which I obviously still have!

The NUMMI Plant where your truck was made was also with GM.

I would also like to point out that my dad didn't think too highly of American cars; The first half-dozen or so vehicles he owned between the ages of 16 and 22 were all American, but his first couple of cars were purchased by my Grandparents. As for the the rest, he just bought what he could afford; He traded his 1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo for the Celica, which was his first new car.

Since buying that Celica in 1983, my dad has not owned one American car! He's had a 1992 Dodge Dakota, a 1993 Chevy Blazer, and a 2000 GMC Safari, and currently drives a 2018 GMC Yukon, but those are a truck, an SUV, a van, and another SUV, respectively...

My mom's first new car was a 1985 Ford Escort that she bought after she met my dad, and did accompany her when she bought the car and no doubt did drive the Escort a few times, but that was my mom's car...

Since 1983 my parents have collectively owned three Toyotas, an Datsun, an MG, a Ford, two Mazdas, one Dodge, one Chevy, two GMCs, two Hondas, an Acura, a BMW, and a Mercedes, plus a Yamaha Virago and two Harleys (though my mom only ever rode on the motorcycles)!

It says under the hood that my A/C system was made by Delphi-Harrison, which is a GM company; GM vehicles have used Delphi-Harrison HVAC parts since the 1960s, and Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars used them from the 1970s through the early 1990s!

    @shakerhood

I'm not sure of when this ended (I think in the early 1990s), but Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars also used GM TH400 3-speed automatic transmissions for the longest time, because they were found to be the only suitable transmission that could stand up to the RR 6.75-liter V8's immense torque!

If my A/C compressor ever takes a shit, then I'm going to my mechanic Pete instead of the stealership; Pete said he'd use a Denso compressor as the replacement...

I did not go driving today because it was raining, I was tired, and quite frankly I just didn't feel like it; Tomorrow's Saturday, so I have every intention of going for drive even though it's gonna be colder tomorrow than it was today (less than fifty degrees)!

I have no idea where I'm gonna go, but I'm probably just gonna hop on one of the major roads (not the turnpike though) and drive until I feel it's time to turn around.

My boss says I'm likely going back to work in June, and they don't seem to be cancelling future car shows (including one in Quakertown a little over a week from now), so it would be appear that life finally appears to be regaining some sense of normalcy!

Yeah all my Tacoma's have had those compressors, I would prefer the Denso too. They used to build Pontiac Vibe's at NUMMI, trying to remember what other ones they did.

I hope my A/C compressor doesn't go to the great parts bin in the sky this year! I've spent too much money replacing stuff on my truck in the last year and a half!

I think I read about that, but I thought the governor was gradually reopening things...

Saved the old deck boards from last year to use in the garage. Cut all the bad sections out, sanded them down and put a coat of decking oil on. I will cover that small expansion seam with a piece of trim in the near future.
