Parents don’t want me going to Carlisle this weekend, and my dad even told me so this morning; However, my dad went out and bought me a case of Gatorade G2 to drink at the show (it’s gonna be over 90 on Saturday), so I have a feeling he’s more in favor of me going than he will admit...

 

Also, all but one Pennsylvania county enters the “green phase” tomorrow!

I preordered the game and it arrived on June 21st; I'd say I'm more than halfway through it now...

When you're playing as Abby at the Lakeview Hospital in Seattle, you have to fight this infected thing that's a bunch of people melded together; I have lost count of how many times I've died trying to kill this bastard and I gave up after probably a dozen times. I did make some leeway and made it to the halfway point where one of the infected breaks free from the main monster, but I can't get past this point...



I have all of the settings on "easy" mode, but this this thing is still nearly impossible to kill!

There's plenty of ammo throughout the hospital ward, but it's dark in the ward and the flashlight doesn't help much, and the creature is constantly pursuing you; There's absolutely no hiding from it for more than a few seconds...

Any suggestions?

 

I was talking with one of my best friends yesterday and he heard a rumor that instead making a "GTA 6", Rockstar will just be upgrading GTA 5 for the upcoming PS5 console...

If this is the case, then I'm most certainly not dropping several hundred dollars on a PS5! The PS4 was released in 2014 if I remember correctly, and I didn't buy one until late 2016 (Cyber Monday - $75 off).

I was hoping there'd be a new GTA set in Vice City (they've brought Liberty City and San Andreas into the HD universe), but it looks like that won't happen...?

Also, to be honest, I am not a fan of GTA Online; I would love GTA Online if I could change the settings so I didn't have to come into contact with other players...

One of the first times I played it, I bought myself a vintage Bentley-like automobile called a Stafford; The first time I took it for a drive and some asshole blew it (and me) up with a rocket launcher for no reason whatsoever! The only consolation was that the bastard had to pay my insurance deductible when I got a new car!

 

I am almost done with The Last of Us Part II, and I have found nothing even remotely resembling a Tacoma

Some of you may remember that I posted a screenshot picture allegedly from in-game, featuring the burned and or rusted out and thoroughly gutted shell of what appeared to be a 2nd Gen Access Cab...

 

With the exception of military Humvees, this is the only pickup truck I’ve seen in the game...

It comes in many different colors and variations; The truck appears to be based mostly on the Ford F-series, specifically the 2009-2014 model and 2015-present model...




The interior is definitely based on the 2015-present model (I smashed out the window to give you a good look inside); This is highly anachronistic because in the game, the pandemic started in September 2013 and the world affectively ended long before any 2015 vehicles could roll off the assembly line...




The truck also has a strong hint of 1999-2006 Super Duty and possibly 2008-2010 Supper Duty, especially in the cab and door handles...

 

A white one; Also has a slight hint of Nissan Titan...

By the way the original game took place in various places around the post-pandemic United States between the late summer of 2033 and the early spring of 2034; The prologue took place in Austin, Texas in September 2013...

• The main storyline begins in Boston in September 2023, and the next explorable location is the semi-fictional town of Lincoln, Massachusetts (there really is a town called Lincoln, but in the game it is located in the fictional Amherst County).
• The next explorable location is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• Then comes Jackson, Wyoming
• Various locations in Colorado
• Salt Lake City, Utah

 

Part II takes place almost entirely in a post-pandemic Seattle, in the early spring of 2038 or 2039; The beginning of the game is in Jackson, Wyoming and the end is in Santa Barbara, California...

 

A couple of long-dormant (at least 25 years) central A/C units at a building in 2039 post-pandemic Seattle...




Note how the A/C units are different; The designers really went to great lengths to make things realistic here! How so?

A commercial building could easily go through three or more A/C units over the course of a couple decades; The units also tend to fail at different times, so it is not uncommon in real life to see a commercial and residential buildings with a really nice older Carrier or York, and then see a new but cheap Goodman next to it...



If I had to guess, I’d say the green unit on the left is older, and also may have been getting serviced when the outbreak hit since the access panel is missing...

 

Both units strongly resemble base model Carriers, but the white unit on the right has a lot of design cues from Lennox and York units...

 

Also, in GTA San Andreas a lot of the Vinewood mansions have rooftop central A/C units. The game takes place in 1992; If you look closely at the A/C units, you will see that the panel designs were taken from pictures of actual A/C units! Specifically a Trane XE1000 and a Rheem Classic/Ruud Achiever, and more ape if ally the fan grilles...

The Trane XE and the old “stamped octagon” Rheem/Ruud units are period correct for what would have been installed in 1992!

 

Definitely resembles an F-150
