We have Verizon Fios; I’ve generally been impressed with it but I kinda liked Comcast better...

And it turns out that the circuit breaker couldn’t handle the load of the Christmas lights, the internet router, and the cable box...

This house is not even five years old, but it has a shitty electrical system!

Was it a 15 or 20 amp circuit?

The Breaker should have said 15 or 20. I would guess it would be 20 as mainly 15's are used to run lights.

It’s 15 amp, but I think the Christmas lights on the back deck overloaded the system...

Interesting, l would have honestly guessed that they would have run 20 amp circuits for outlets. I am sure that they did that to cut costs cause you can use 14/2 on 15 amp circuits instead of 12/2. That Cable Box is probably the power hungry item.

Yea I wouldn’t take to kindly to someone yelling at me. They may or may not end up with a dirty shirt

New theory; My dad believes that water got into an outdoor outlet or light on that circuit and we have to dry it out; As soon as I plugged the front Christmas lights in it went out again.

He didn’t yell at me, but he did get awfully close to me for someone who was supposedly in favor of social distancing and COVID mitigation.

Funny how that works since he made himself a member of the mask police and then violates the distancing.
