For those, get this guy. It has rescued 4 out of every 5 of my burned strings:
    upload_2020-12-1_9-45-2.jpg

For the electric tape comment, I meant you need to protect the plugs where one string connects to another or your extension cord.
    upload_2020-12-1_9-54-21.jpg

Those have been problematic for me if they got a little wet in the past. Before I started wrapping those I have had to throw away countless strings after I started noticing burn marks whenever a little rainwater/dirt got between the prongs.

Most hardware stores should have them, as well as wal-mart and Amazon. They usually cost ~ $20-25.

Sounds like you have too many things drawing power from the one 15amp breaker. Just cause the house was built in 2016 doesnt mean it was built correctly. You can always turn all your breakers off, and leave just this 15amp on. Then go around your house and see what still runs and what plugs work. You might have something you dont know about drawing power.

Also, is the breaker the same brand as the box that houses all the breakers? They should be made by the same company. Loose connections can result from mismatched brands.

    Not bad!

This is why I don't want to buy a house built by a nationwide "MegaBuilder". My parents' house was built by NV Homes, which is much smaller than Toll Brothers and builds a better a home in my opinion, but like any home located in a suburban subdivision that isn't a $1 million plus custom job, the builder does only what is required to pass code and doesn't give any thought to how cheaping out on little details might affect things later!

    :annoyed:

Every house my parents have ever owned since 1990 has been a tract home in a subdivision, and with the exception of the place in Pennsylvania where we lived from 1990 to 1996 (which was build largely by Amish workers), all of them have had issues related to half-assed cost-cutting measures...

Unplugging the image projector really helped; As for the brand, I will check when I get home from work...

Remember. Builders are in business to make a profit. They build to code. Code is a MINIMUM. Codes change every few years. What was code in 1960 is below code in 2020.

A "Spec Home" is meaning a Speculation Home.

A Custom Home should be built to the buyers requirements.

Before you purchase a house. I suggest you become familiar with terminology related to houses and the systems within the house.

A treadmill can draw up to 20 amps. Of course it will overload a circuit if you’re running other things. Take a look at the motor rating on the name plate for the treadmill and see how many amps the motor draws.

perhaps have a dedicated line to feed a receptacle for the treadmill.

Sorry buddy l have been doing like 20 things this morning, only been throwing stuff here when l think of something. Are all of those GFl's on the same circuit and are they linked together or do they operate independent of each other?

I dont think spending a hundred or more bucks on an electrician is the answer here. Electricity is easy. Dont touch live wires, and dont mix colored wires. That will keep the homeowner electrician out of trouble for the most part.

When in doubt: shut power off before touching anything.

If I'm working in my box I throw the main 200amp breaker off. That way the only live wires I have to worry about are at the top coming in from the street. Then using a muiti-meter or a voltage pen just check if the outlet or light you want to work on is dead. OP hasnt even suggested hes gonna be doing any wiring yet. Hes just trying to figure out why a breaker is tripping. He can perform all the tests so far suggested without fear of being electrocuted: finding out how much is on the breaker, is it wired correctly in the box... (Minis swapping breakers, that would require shutting off the main). And if he starts diving in deeper....

    Cut power before touching.

Occam's Razor says you have too much draw on one circuit.

Buy a Kill-A-Watt. Do some math. Move things to different circuits.

We already have one; The guy who does all the electrical and HVAC work for the township buildings is also a veteran, and never charges cops, firefighters, active-duty or reservist military, or other veterans (like my dad) any labor to work on their homes or businesses; The one stipulation is that the customer pay for all materials, which I think is a damn good deal! However, he is a very busy man and my dad doesn't want to call him in unless it's something we can't handle ourselves...

The biggest issue is that all of the outlets on different circuits would require numerous unsightly extension cords to be run through the front door, and then who knows? The amount of Christmas lights I've got might cause that breaker to trip!

The easiest thing to do would be to move the treadmill to a different circuit, even if you don't move the treadmill itself and use a 12ga extension cord.

If the lights are LED, this isn't going to be the main culprit. Your biggest draw isn't going to be parasitic draw from stuff like routers either. The problem is the treadmill.
