I posted a pic of this in Car Porn the other day, such a nicely done car but that front bumper is so just out of place. They really need to cut that bumper down and tuck it closer to the body as its freakin' huge and looks like a snow plow!

The reason I ask is because I smashed up a Subaru while working at the detail shop because I wasn’t paying attention to where I was driving; $1,600 to fix but I passed a drug test so I didn’t have to pay...

Assume before the Christmas lights, the GFCI was not tripping, or at least not often. Adding a few strings of LED lights is not going to draw a high current unless you also have 5-10 old non led bulb strings of lights as well. Even at that, an overloaded circuit will likely trip the breaker in the basement, not the GFCI button on the outlet.

I’d bet the main issue is moisture in the exterior lights. This is due to how GFCI outlets work. These are designed to measure current going out of the outlet and the return on the neutral wire. As soon as these are not equal, the GFCI pops as the current is grounding elsewhere. This is where the moisture comes in... whether it be dropping a hairdryer in the tub or water in the connections of your Christmas lights. That’s what trips the GFCI.

I also agree to put the treadmill on a separate 20a circuit. That’s pretty easy to do, and being in the basement is even easier as there is no drywall to deal with. Simply have an electrician add a 20 amp breaker and run a dedicated line to an outlet and install a 20 amp outlet. Done.

and how I envision OP with his lights...

Been playing since my dad bought me GTA & GTA2 for PS1. He had no idea what he was buying(and to be fair, they were way less realistic but still somewhat violent) and I had no idea what I was playing. I would just drive around and kill people by going on “vigilantes” . When GTA3 came out, it was a whole different thing! Wish they would remake that.

Current draw is not necessarily the issue with a tripping arc fault and a treadmill. Yes it should be on a 20 amp circuit but the ground is also used to dissipate static electricity that the device generates this can indead trip an arc fault be it 15 or 20 amp.

COVID affects everybody differently, but I think the biggest affect that it's having on people with autism is the change to their normal routine; People with autism like structure, though at the same time higher-functioning individuals like myself don't like being micromanaged. Like neurotypical individuals, Aspies and people with other forms of autism do not like uncertainty.

During the summer, when the number of cases had gone down, I was going to car shows and other outdoor events just about every weekend; My best friend Mike went to a couple of the car shows with me, but mostly opted to stay home. Mike's mom works at a hospital and has seen the effects of COVID firsthand, so she was among the most cautious people I knew when the outbreak first got going. Mike is far more introverted than I am and doesn't get out as much, and like any good parent his mom regularly tries to get him to go out more; However, encouraging Mike to go out while at the same time encourage him to take proper precautions against COVID contradicted at times...

Anyway, car shows aren't always Mike's thing and he turned down my invites; His mom and younger sister had to force him to go at least once. Mike worked as a groundskeeper at a public school prior to COVID, a job he'd held for years. After being furloughed for months, he wanted to start making money again so he wouldn't have to dip into his savings, and he got a job at a grocery store that he doesn't particularly care fore.

Starting not even two months ago, Mike's mom started encouraging him to get out more and not hang out around the house so much (while keeping socially distant from people other than his close friends); The thing with Aspies is that they dent to dwell on and more often than not obsess over the most mundane shit (I am way beyond guilty of this).

So, first it was bowling; Mike texted me at least three times from September through the end of October about going to the bowling alley less than half a mile from his house. I told him there was no way I was going into a bowling alley with cases rising, and using a ball that other people had touched; It took two times before I convinced him that it was non-negotiable and I wasn't going bowling. Then, it was let's go out to eat.

Doug, John, Mike, and I all met up for dinner at a place in Doylestown called Farmhouse Tavern (same place I met up with @El Duderino for dinner last winter when he was here visiting family); We initially ate under a tent outside, but then it started to rain, so we went inside (The restaurant was not crowded at all, and this was before cases started to spike). John and I met up at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Warrington a couple months and ate inside, but again it was deserted and only started filling up as we were leaving; At some point in September or October the four of us (along with John's girlfriend) met up for dinner at Giuseppe's Pizza in Warminster. That was the last time we went out to eat...

Recently, Mike got this obsession with going to the Uno in Warrington. Uno is not bad, but it's food doesn't particularly stand out to me and I wasn't going out of my way to go there even before the pandemic; Seriously, I can count the number of times I've to Uno restaurants around the country in my whole life on one hand! Mike's reasoning was that it was in the middle of a weekday and it would be deserted due to everybody at work (it was on a day when the two of us both happened to have the day off). I once again said no and cited my concerns about the rise in COVID cases, and he agreed but said he really wanted to get out of the house. I told him he'd had plenty of chances to get out of the house when I'd invited him to the car shows during the summer, and he couldn't really explain why he'd turned those offers down (Mike is nowhere near the crazy automobile enthusiast that I am, but he I've brought him to numerous car shows in the past and he's always enjoyed himself; He was supposed to go with me to Carlisle this year, as I'd gotten a hotel room with two beds like I always do, but he changed his mind).

So, what does Mike do? He calls up Doug and go to Uno with him instead, after agreeing that my concerns about the spike in COVID cases were legit! Maybe a week ago, the three of us (Doug, Mike, myself) met up at Mike's house for lunch and to watch the new rebooted Hulu Animaniacs show, but Mike's parents sanitize the shit out of their house and we were six feet from each other at all times so I personally don't think we put ourselves at risk.

All of my Aspie friends and I have our frustrations about the COVID restrictions...

With me, it's the fact that I was robbed of what would have been my very first trip to Europe, and that a good number of the car shows I planned on going to were cancelled so I didn't have much of a backup plan either. I was also out of work for exactly three months (effectively furloughed but never officially unemployed), and aside from three or four brief nighttime jaunts into New Jersey in the last two weeks to show off my festively decorated truck, I have not been outside of Pennsylvania since January 2020; The furthest I've driven from home since the outbreak is Carlisle. The only relatives I've seen in person since the outbreak started are my cousin, her husband, and their new baby. Aside from that, it's exclusively been friends and neighbors...

When I'm out driving and I see one of the local cops I know chilling in a parking lot, I'll stop and shoot the shit with them, but that's really about it; Don't get me wrong, the local cops are cool guys (and girls; There's at least one female officer in my town) and quite fun to chat with, but I want things to go back to normal!

    :annoyed:

Doug had a paid job at Bucks County Community College as a sort of chef's apprentice in the culinary arts summer program, where he helped teach younger kids how too cook; He LOVED that job. Unfortunately, BCCC has been pretty much completely closed since March 2020. There was also this "Peace Fair" held in Doylestown every September where he'd sell his own baked goods, and if you thought I was pissed about my family trip to Ireland being cancelled, you should have seen upset Doug was about the Peace Fair being cancelled two months in advance!

All three of us miss going to the movies just about every weekend, but there's no way in hell I'm stepping foot in a movie theater until the pandemic is under control...

Doug has lived in the middle of nowhere since 1995, whereas Mike and I both live in suburban subdivisions where all manner of restaurants, movie theaters, and shopping centers are a five-minute drive. Doug gets incredibly frustrated about the fact that he has to drive considerably farther than the rest of us to meet up somewhere, and he regularly showed up late or not at all; When he did show up, he would often be in a foul mood and it would be up to yours truly to calm him down.

Mike, as stated above, has more or less been on an even keel, but he has some very understandable frustrations about the pandemic too; Like I said, he has been bugging me to do stuff I don't feel comfortable doing like going bowling and eating indoors at a restaurant, and this is incredibly frustrating because he was invited to car shows numerous times over the summer.

Before Mike had a driver's license (which he finally got last fall), he would be stuck at home if his parents and sister were out of town at the same time. If any of us who happened to have licenses were away for the weekend, he was out of luck. He finally got his license in either September of October of 2019 and bought himself a used 2017 Chevy Trax for only $9,900 not long after; His parents helped a little bit, but this is his vehicle that he pays the insurance on. I tell him to take a long drive on his days off from work, to clear his mind, but he never does...

His loss; I love going for "mental health drives" on weekends and my days off from work!

After doing some scouting while driving around with the Christmas lights on, I've determined that the best places to drive around and spread holiday cheer are...

    • Doylestown, Pennsylvania
    • Peddler's Village/Lahaska, Pennsylvania
    • New Hope, Pennsylvania/Lambertville, New Jersey
    • Montgomeryville/North Wales, Pennsylvania
    • Various shopping centers in Hatfield and Quakertown

I drove to Frenchtown, New Jersey last weekend and it pretty much abandoned; Still debating whether or not it's worth it to drive into certain parts of Philly (Manayunk, Fishtown, etc) on a weekend. What does everybody else think?
