Yeah she had that metallic purple with the double white strips, for some reason l keep thinking the white stripes went all the way down over the front bumper and ground effects but l could be wrong.

First moderately reliable fuel injection came along in the 1980s then; I thought all C3s were carbureted...

 

Well yeah kind of, but she surrendered it. It was a leased car with 5 years and 60k agreement but by the time 3 years rolled past she was well north of 90k!

 

I had a 1970 VW Squareback, little trivia for you as it was the first mass produced electronic fuel injected vehicle sold.

 

Did she have to pay penalties? That’s why I’d never lease a vehicle!

 

She didn't but that was only because of bankruptcy, l don't like leases either, probably only ok if you own and use it for a small business.

 

Our leased company 2017 Chrysler Pacifica had over 50K miles on it when we turned it in earlier this year!

 

@PennSilverTaco The VW Beetle started electronic fuel injection in 1975 but the watercooled VW's of that time had a Carb.

 

Yeah seems like an ok deal for business use but l would not do it for personal use.

 

Close..the 1982 started the Crossfire, which was the last year of the C3.

Top of my skull the Datsun 280ZX started in 1979 as fuelie.

It can work for personal use in the right situation, my mom did one but she drives less than 5000 a year.
