Does your truck have the big numbers on the speedometer in kilometers?

 

No, but l loved the job. Very satisfying being there for people when they need help somehow. Plus, I always believed that the best tool l had was the ability to talk with people and to act like a human being. It doesn't always work. But its the first tool l would use and the one l would use all the time.
So many people would be angry as hell at the mere sight of me when I first got there. But the vast majority would shake my hand when l left, and we'd be on a first name basis.


The speedometer in my Tacoma has metric as the primary numbers, and U.S. in smaller numbers.

 

Just like back home in Canada; Do vehicles get titles in Costa Rica like they do in the US and Canada, or is there another way of proving ownership?

Yes. They issue you a vehicle permit just like they do in Canada and the U.S.

 

Like I said, it would probably be legal in most U.S. states...

There’s a guy in my area who’s got a JDM ‘91 Land Cruiser; It was made emissions-legal but the speedo is only in kilometers...

It's easy to do the kmh to mph conversion in your head. Canada switched over to metric when l was a kid. I learned lmperial, then had to learn metric.

 

1993-1997 better because they have the triple-locking differential...

 

That l wouldn't know. Unfortunately my knowledge about that vehicle is pretty much non-existent.
