    This right here.

when I was in Afghanistan, we had a Chevy suburban, a Ford Escape(wtf?) and a “borrowed” hilux. The Toyota was the only one that ran at all over there.

    1. Please post the video here, id love to see it.

    2. People are morons. I had someone do the same thing to me in my Xterra. I let them know my X was made in Smyrna TN, by non union workers. Pissed him off more. "But that money's going to japan!" Well, id think a majority of it goes to pay the men and women working in the plant. Dumbasses.

You can buy trucks made in American plants employing American plant workers and the final profits go to Japanese CEOs who invest tons of money back into the American market…

Or you can buy trucks made in Mexico and elsewhere overseas, pay those foreign locals, and the profits go to American idiot CEOs who all bankrupt their companies, literally owe you the taxpayers Billions of dollars, and will continue to send that money out of the country to the lowest bidder.

I’ll stick to putting money in American worker’s pockets and buying reliable Japanese vehicles made in America.

It’s a global market. All products put money in a dozen countries pockets. I’ll take the one that puts the largest percentage into American working class pockets.

    Cheers.

The guy used an ethnic slur multiple times, and I’m not sure I’m allowed to post it, and I was listening to a song that would like likely trigger a
copyright claim and get the audio muted; Once I get home I’ll upload to YouTube as a private video and send you the link…

That flag represents the United States of America. The USA represents freedom. Freedom encourages you to buy any vehicle you want, and slap any flag on it you want.

The complainer isn’t an American, he’s an ideologue. Those tend to be a-holes, regardless of where they sit on the political spectrum.

I've had a somewhat similar experience to OP though less confrontational, guy from work was just harassing me for anything he could, pulling into the parking lot one morning:

"Japanese trucks ain't really trucks! Buy a real truck! Buy American!"

"Yeah okay sure buddy but my truck was built in Texas where was yours built?"

    "Bull shit!"

"Aight let me show you something," I open the door and point to the Mfg. sticker specifically the vin. "See how the vin starts with a 5, that means it's," points at the other circled bit, "MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. And your Ford Focus was probably made in Brazil."

Dude treated me different after that.

I was driving my Toyota Corolla a couple years ago just before I bought my Tacoma I had a guy pull up next to me and start yelling "By American next time, Asshole!" I reminded him that I did. My Corolla was made in California.
I live in a area with several auto manufacturers near by and closed. The Twinsburg Chrysler plant was shut down while Chrysler was building new plants in India. My employer was building the automation systems for those facilities while we were watching the guys next door loosing their jobs. The Lordstown GM plant shut down and a lot of it went to Mexico. I will support business's that locate here virus the ones that are leaving. I stopped buying American cars in 1986 except for a 2002 Chevrolet S10 I bought which blew the engine at 22000 miles. Been nothing but Toyotas since.
