    2004 Larson, 17-footer, 135hp inboard outboard, new fish finder in 2016, 2-speaker AM/FM cassette that barely works and only plays out of one speaker; Over $2,000 in engine work done, and been sitting since 2016...

    Both boat and trailer have clean titles!

    The boat itself is solid too; My dad has decided that he would rather have an outboard because they're easier to work on...

    We had a 16-foot Skeeter with a 60hp Johnson and that thing lasted 18 years with only one rebuild; It was a 1986 Johnson 2-stroke (four years older than the boat) and the oil injection failed in 1994 or 1995. This resulted in a piston grenading itself; The engine had to be rebuilt and lasted another 14 years...

    The I/O has proven itself to be much more of a pain in the ass to work on (and much more expensive) than the outboard!
