She is; She's texting me about a trip to an area theme park that is probably three months away from being planned, and is being a bit demanding TBH.

 

Because too many people today don't have any honor or Integrity. They don't care how they appear to others.

To be honest, I'd rather live with being taken advantage of, than live with myself for taking advantage of other's.

You give your word, that's what you stand by!

AND you appreciate what others do for you.

I would say the possible friction point there would be, you want to spend money on your passion for vehicles. Where she would see that as wasting money. Financial stuff can be a big deal for relationships

 

Also, people with Aspergers and other autism spectrum disorders are big into hobbies; My best friend John is one hell of a guitar player, and can also play the piano and drums, though getting him to sing on stage can be difficult without a bit of liquid courage...

 

Another one of my friends with Aspergers is in her 50s and lives in the Pacific Northwest; She is a special education teacher by day, which I think is a great job for someone in the spectrum.

She owns many firearms and is big into hunting and fishing; She is also very freaky and the best way I can describe her in this respect is that she is a lifestyle dominatrix. She's been into S&M since before she was old enough to drink.

My old psychologist, who I saw for about 15 years and specializes in Aspergers and autism spectrum disorders, told me that a lot of his female patients were into bondage at a bare minimum; This was before I even met the woman mentioned above, so this did not come as a surprise to me. Also, since Fifty Shades came out, BDSM seems to have become a lot more mainstream; A few years ago, a large house came on the market in my area that had a dedicated sex dungeon in the finished basement, and thousands of dollars worth of kinky furniture was included in the sale.

 

Another thing is that everyone I know with high-functioning autism has a quirk of some sort, or multiple quirks; This can be something they're obsessed with or something that simply triggers them...

In my case, it would be probably be people messing with my truck, or telling me what I can and cannot do with my truck; After all, it's my truck, it's been paid off for almost a decade, and the title is in my name.

My best friend John is a neat freak and I am exactly the opposite, which is why we could probably never be roommates.

 

My friend Mike absolutely has to have a clock of some sort readily visible when he is lying in bed. In January 2018, a bunch of us went to Mike's parents' house in the Poconos; Mike and I shared one of the bedrooms, which had two twin beds.

Mike set his smartphone so the screen wouldn't shut off and positioned it so he could see the clock as soon as he woke up. With the backlight on, I had a hard time getting to sleep, and an argument ensued because Mike just had to have his damn smartphone clock right there.

We finally reached a compromise; I moved the phone to a spot where Mike could still see it, but where the lights woulda keep me awake.

 

She has less money than me and doesn't own a vehicle, so I don't think she's in much of a position to criticize me there, but I see exactly where you're coming from. However, we're not married and we don't have a joint bank account, so I don't think she cares how much money I have or what I spend my money on.

 

Move on to someone else.

Maybe I’m too self centered for it?
Or maybe it’s something else. (It probably is). We all got a story to tell, but I’m not telling. And 99% of people don’t care.

As stated above, the question is still why she is texting me...

It's hard to tell whether it's just Aspergers-induced obsession with one topic (in this case it's a suggested trip to Dorney Park that hasn't even been suggested yet) and getting locked onto it (I'm guilty of this too), or if she is actually secretly into me. I could care less either way.

 

Whos paying?

 

I'm paying for myself; I'm pretty sure she has a season pass or a gift card, or something. I'd just be driving us there since she doesn't have a license, and since I want to go to Dorney Park I wouldn't expect gas money from her...

 

Eh i dunno, me personally i dont need a "gal" friend. It always complicates things if you do get in a serious relationship

 

She's starting to annoy me right now with this whole theme park/rollercoaster thing, because she thinks I can't handle riding different rollercoasters multiple times in the same day without puking. She wants me to "prove myself" at Dorney before we go to any other "more extreme" parks together. Yes, she is willing to pay her own way, but while it's been years since I've been to an amusement park I think I can handle myself on a few rollercoasters; I've never puked as a result of going on an amusement park ride of any type, and I've even done it on a full stomach!

it's possible, since you're both on the spectrum, that she is making a mountain out of a molehill on this one topic. However, in my experience if someone is into you, they'll either deal, feign interest, or genuinely get interested about something you're passionate about to progress things. Same thing with the age difference. Plenty of people have bridged that age gap or greater for someone they're into.

Someone who's actually into you will not be looking for excuses why you can't date, but finding reasons why you can.

 

Right now, she's putting an obnoxious amount of emphasis of whether or not I will puke after riding multiple rollercoasters, and more specifically whether I will puke on her...

1. I don't puke from riding on rollercoasters and other thrill rides.
2. Who cares?

 

well in her defense, i wouldn't want to get puked on by a friend, date, or otherwise at an amusement park

or any other locale really

 

Yeah, but I don't puke, and whether or not I puke on amusement park rides has never come up in my nearly 33 years on this planet...
