It looks like Tony Montana sneezed in my truck, but that white stuff is not what you think it is! It's just corn starch...

An old friend of mine who has owned several Rolls-Royces told me of this truck he uses to get odors out of carpet and upholstery; Store-bought corn starch can remove odors and leaves your interior smelling like fabric softener!

I figured if it works on a Rolls-Royce then why not Tacoma? It's been probably close to five years since I used this technique on the truck, but after spending several days in a body shop with no passenger window, the interior smelled like paint and other chemicals. The smell would dissipate as I drove, but it would come back if the truck was parked for any length of time. The trick is to dump corn starch on the carpet and seats, and leave it overnight; These are the pictures from last night...

I actually spelled out "LOOK OUT" in masking tape to make sure one of my parents didn't step on it and shatter it, and I placed it atop the one piece of machinery in the garage that likely won't see any use until probably December of this year; I took this picture yesterday, and I took the other picture today after I bumped into it by mistake and knocked it off the snowblower...

 

Damn lmao that suck ngl that's a very precarious spot to post something fragile whether you had the warning on it or not. Glws don't think anyone will want it now

At least it wasn’t something you “needed”.

 

I literally had no money in it; It came with the door that the scrapyard's insurance company paid for, and Butch (the owner of the body shop) was going to throw it out, so I'm not particularly upset...

What seatcover is that? Might get one for mine, driver's side is getting a little worn

It's not bad looking, was just looking thru different car pics and apparently that is a little trend with Astro's.

 

I would recommend against using it on the seats!

 

I'll bet any insurance company would total one of these Escalade vans in the event of front end damage, unless there's a company that's making bolt-on Escalade-style parts...

 

How in the hell did you manage that?!?!

 

Because I am very predictable with my musical tastes!

 

I suppose if your buddy uses it in RRs that it's OK. Maybe he thoroughly vacuums it out after the odors are cleared. Up in the woods where I am I'd be afraid that it might attract varmints.
