Me too. And the probe works great for picking the foam insulation out of the vents too.
If you own a vehicle long enough, you’ll know what am talking about.
It’s the stuff that fills the gaps in the duct work.

My truck has actual temperature settings too, rarely use the automatic climate control setting though.

It's a Denso, and my mechanic's supplier stands behind their merchandise better than other places...

Negative as far as I know (getting a PCR test tomorrow), but certainly not bored. Between playing Saints Row and the two car shows I went to this weekend, I'm having a lot of fun, and I've got a metric shit-ton of awesome Toyota and Lexus pictures incoming!

So, I almost went to three car shows today, and the two I actually did go to were free admission for spectators. At all of the huge events, like at the Carlisle Fairgrounds and Raceway Park, you have to pay to get in. This is expected, and you get a lot for your money. At the Carlisle Truck Nationals, less than $60 gets me a showfield pass that lets me drive around the fairgrounds all weekend, and also gets a goodie bag with a T-shirt. Carlisle is surprisingly not the most expensive for spectator admission, with Maple Grove charging well over $20 for admission at the 2021 Super Chevy Show, which totally sucked in terms of how many cars and trucks they had.

The smaller car shows rarely charge admission, and if they do it might be five or ten bucks. Today, I was driving home from the cars and coffee at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, and I saw a car show at Cactus Grille on Route 611 in Pipersville. I stopped, and immediately encountered a clusterfuck. Traffic was backed up, and there was a guy in a black square body Chevy who was trying to get out. I rolled down my passenger window (I have crank windows so this is a chore) to talk with this woman directing traffic. She told me it was forty bucks ($40) to get in; I was like "To spectate?"

She starts going on about how all the money is going toward cancer research, and I could understand that if it was for people actually showing their vehicles, but I have never encountered more than $30 for general admission. Back when the US Diesel Truckin' Nationals at Raceway Park were still in their glory days, that was $30 to get in, but that show was huge and worth the cost in my opinion; I also knew a guy who got me tickets to that show for free in 2015 and 2016, so there's that.

FORTY BUCKS TO GET INTO A CAR SHOW IN THE PARKING LOT OF A RESTAURANT! :luvya:

I don't really give a shit where the money is going!

So, I was talking to the woman through my passenger window, and a guy who was also with the event staff approached my driver's window (which was up); I believe that he thought I was ignoring him and got his panties in a bunch. He came around the passenger side of my truck and said, rather gruffly, "Sir, if you don't want to pay, then you can pull over there and turn around."

So you're gonna charge me almost the price of a Carlisle showfield pass for a car show that is a sixth of the size of Carlisle's smallest events, and you're gonna be a dick to me before I can even say anything?!?! You bet your ass I turned around and left!

I have no idea what charity the money was actually going to, and if the $40 included a meal and/or a beer, then maybe I would have stuck around. The girl I initially talked too was nice, but the guy was a dickhead. I told my dad about this encounter, and he said that I did the right thing. I called up my friend Helen, who as you all know just lost her husband Jim when he flatlined in the operating room following what was supposed to be a routine lung cancer surgery; Helen said she wouldn't have paid that much either, even if she was actually showing a car.

I have lost several people I care about to cancer, and I'm all for donating to research in the hope of eventually finding a cure, but forty bucks is a bit aggressive. Remember the guy in the black Chevy truck I mentioned? He seemed a bit pissed off, and actually got annoyed at me because he was trying to make a left turn out of the parking lot while I was making a right turn into the parking lot; I presume he was annoyed because my truck was blocking his view to the left. Looking back on it, I have a feeling that he hoped to get into the car show as a spectator (though his truck was nice enough and certainly old enough to be in the show), but like me did not feel like paying forty bucks just to spectate (I don't even want to think about what they charged people who were actually showing a vehicle)!

I've been to a car show at Cactus Grill at least once, but it was years ago; I'm pretty sure I didn't have to pay to get in...

You know I don’t do cars. I said that in the past.
Those days are long over for me, I couldn’t care less about cars these days.

As for donations, I had to make a decision a few years ago.
I got so many calls and requests that I couldn’t donate to all.
So I decided, I am only donating to St. Jude for the time being.

I went to the cars and coffee solely because I expected there to be a lot of Toyota trucks, and that show did not disappoint...

$40 is WAY out of line for a car show. I show 2 of my bikes periodically and I don't mind an admission and entry fee for a good cause provided it's within reason. That being said I've yet to pay over $20 to enter either of my bikes in ANY show and that includes a couple with actual judges who know what they're looking at not a simple "people's choice" type show where whole clubs vote for one of their friends.
