150k+ miles on mine. 100+ degree days from late June through September for its entire life. No issues in any conditions. Keep your radiator and condenser clean.

I've owned a half dozen Toyota trucks and they've all handled the heat like champs. A few years ago we were prerunning an off road race in Baja -- I was tasked to meet the prerunnwe at a remote spot in the desert to gas him up. I had to wait for more than an hour -- the truck said the outside temp was 122º. I sat in the truck for an hour, truck idling, AC working great, and the temp gauge never left its "normal" position.

Driven in 115+*f across the desert floor for hours off road (high and slow speeds) ac blasting never had an issue.

Pulled multi thousand lb trailers in 110+*F ambients up thousands of feet of elevation at uh "55"ish (ca speed limit when towing cus im a good boy) AC blasting never an issue.

I do keep the condenser and radiator quite clean and coolant is checked and fresh with regular maintenance.

I have a blue driver obd scan tool that will tell you. Not as nice as the truck gauge but I got it for like $100 couple years ago probably cheaper now. It’s blue tooth so it would be on your phone or what ever. later the year truck more it will tell you.

Personally I like the style but I would want 3 bedrooms just because they're easier to sell down the road.

That's why I don't own my late friend Jim's 1-bedroom condo right now. My dad was gonna help me pay for it but he figured it would be better to hold off for a bigger place that would be easier to sell...

I have a buddy that said he would do this while towing big diesels back in the day. He’s not old, and was in the navy for a few years so Im guessing this was about 20-30 years ago.

My point being, this is probably still relevant.

Even though it is hot, California hot is nothing compared to desert hot. And that is nothing compared to what the engine runs at.

Heat is probably the last thing you’d ever worry about in California…..
