I can understand the mask intolerance. I can’t stand them either and only wear them in medical facilities (required in CO as of today). I had to wear on during an MRI today in fact and it sucked. Everyone in the facility had them around their chin anyway.

I got a Milwaukee tool for Christmas, They would not let me take it back. Not even for store credit.
The instant the lady took my ID, I knew something wasn’t right. She returned my ID and said, “unless I could get a receipt, there was nothing they could do”. And basically, as nice as possible, told me that theft was a problem. Sorry. (Again, maybe the Wal-mart incident has some to do with my feeling too?)

    I think I’m on a list:rofl:

I also think I know how I got on there too.
And it was basically the same scenario. Expect I actually did produce a receipt, but it was digital copy.

I now just ask if anyone wants to buy me a gift, just give me a gift card. It’s much easier.

I mean, who wants to tell someone that “You don’t want the gift they gave them”?

When you mention no more than 24 hours a week, is that you'll always get 24 or sometimes less? And do you have a set schedule at the current gig?

Yeah, most people don't wear them correctly; I'm glad to say that I haven't had a mask-related incident in well over a year. The mask mandates were totally dropped in Pennsylvania the spring of 2021, and most businesses realized that continuing to require them went over about as well as a tax audit on Christmas Eve.

Hmm..I wonder if you could get a job cleaning offices? I mention that b/c it would still give you weekends off. One thing about the ones you mention is you might have to work all weekend.

Can relate to the glasses thing, I remember leaving mine on and donning my sunglasses..that didn't last long.

I’m used to them. But I’ve been wearing them every fall for the last 10+ years.
It took me about 3 years of having sinus infection form mulching leaves to learn my lesson.

As far as wearing them in public, I don’t unless I have too.
So far I haven’t caught anything. If I do, it’s my fault. I’ll either get over it or I won’t.

As for other people, I don’t care what they do.

I don't mind working weekends in the slightest. I worked weekends at Puck all the time and loved it. I usually worked evenings and nights, so on Saturdays during the summer I would go to car shows in the morning and early afternoon, then be at Puck in time for my shift to start. Saturdays are bigger car show days than Sundays, so I would routinely work Sunday mornings; I would arrive before the bartenders, unlock the building, and get everything set up. If it was busy, I would stay and help out, but if it wasn't I was generally gone before lunchtime.

Mandatory Saturdays at the car dealer detail shop where I had to be up at the crack of dawn continue to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

That kind of a job sounds like it would be up your alley too, maybe at a strip club giggle

Especially in 2021, it was well within reason to require masks. Given that a synogague is private property, refusal to wear a mask, no matter how annoyed your friend was, puts him in the wrong.

But respectfully I get it, and tend to side with the wear it if you want to now in 2022. Especially as mandates have rolled back.

But I don’t agree with the “I have Asperger’s so I don’t need to wear a mask” argument. If you’re out in public and masks are required of others, you should be wearing one as well. Think about it, if you get pulled over, does the cop care that you have Asperger’s and are freaking out?

    Life ain’t fair.

Respectfully, not attacking you at all.

And Doug voted with his feet; I'm pretty sure he hasn't been back since that happened.

And my friend Anna complied, but she almost quit her job because she thought it was unfair.

And again, she has significant sensory issues. On another note, I almsot punched a guy back in June 2020 because he thought it was a good idea to get in my face about not wearing my mask properly. I was at a Mission BBQ on my lunchbreak, and Mission has never enforced masks; I was just wearing one because it was still fairly early in the pandemic. My mask kept fogging up my glasses, so I took it down below my nose. Some random 20-something guy comes behind me, startling me, and gets right in my face; I don't care if we're in a pandemic or not, you don't violate a perfect stranger's bubble. He was wearing a mask, but that was besides the point. I believe he said that if I should either wear my mask properly or not wear one at all; I gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked him if he worked there. He said no and I told him, calmly and coolly, to "mind his own damn business." He persisted, and I gave him a homicidal glare and told him to fuck off. He still didn't back off, but luckily the restaurant manager could tell I was about to put the guy on his ass and stepped between us. The other guy had already received his order and was made to leave, while the manager basically took my side. Everyone I've told that story has also taken my side...

That's a new one; I don't care where he's from or what he watches, but his actions almost resulted in him waking up looking at the ceiling of Mission BBQ with some of his teeth missing...
