Drunk Karens and Kens are even worse than sober ones. Though at a bar, even the less-tipsy ones can be fucking annoying. Remember that I used to work at a bar...

    :drunk:

One time on Thanksgiving Eve a few years back (2017 or 2018), when we are always slammed, I was moving a chair to block off a hallway at my boss's request. There was this college age "Ken" who was in my way. I forget the entire dialogue, but he basically brushed me off. I explained that I worked there and needed to get through with this chair. He was like "What do you mean you fucking work here?"

One of the bartenders, who is this short but muscular guy who works as a high gym teacher by day (and ended up marrying the general manager of the bar, who was my boss at the time; I am still good friends with both of them), overheard the exchange. He recognized this guy because he had been serving him not too long ago, got right up in his face, and said "He means he fucking works here and needs to get through. FUCKING MOVE!!!"

That got his attention and he moved.

Showing I.D. is not a big deal. I don't get why some people get sideways about that

Wegmans also stopped the plastic bags in MD.

But you can still buy the “fancier” reusable ones, I think I saw one for like $6.99 lol

It is stupid that they don’t do the 10 cent nicer reusable ones. But consider yourself lucky that you live in a state where you can still get the free ones.

And then there was the psycho bitch I encountered when I was at Puck as a customer in probably 2016 or 2017; I get asked all the time if I either have a cigarette or a lighter. For a time, I did carry my Zippo on me in case I encountered a cute girl who needed a light, but I don't smoke so I generally don't have a lighter on me. A reasonably attractive but incredibly drunk woman in her 20s was sitting at one of the outdoor patio tables, and she asked me if I had a lighter; I said "No. Sorry." or something like that, which should have been the end of it...

    Nope!

She jumps up from her chair and starts pointing her finger at me and screaming. "YOU'RE LYING!" "THAT'S BULLSHIT!"

I was utterly terrified of this chick, and her friends actually had to restrain her. I sheepishly backed away while at least one of her friends held her back.

All because I told her I didn't have a lighter. Needless to say, she was cut off and left with her friends a short time later. I have a feeling she had something going on upstairs in addition to having had too much to drink.

I have mellowed out a lot more at having to show ID for what I see as stupid reasons, and my grandma has mellowed out a lot just in general. However, while I love my grandma dearly and talk with her on the phone regularly, she has her quirks. I am not going to get into details about family issues on a public forum, but one time in 2019 when my grandma was packing up her house in Pennsylvania so she could move to her new house in Florida, I drove up to help her out. She accused me of "rushing her along" or something, an argument started, she said some unkind things, and I went out to my truck to cool off.

I called my parents to tell them about the situation, and my grandma came out a short time later to see what I was doing. If she thinks somebody is "talking about her", she becomes hysterical. I was sitting in the truck with the engine running and the A/C on because it was a warm day, and the windows were up. Purely out of habit, I had locked the door. My grandma saw me on the phone and immediately began trying to force her way into my truck. The doors were obviously locked, and when she realized furiously pulling on the door handle was getting her nowhere, she started pounding on the window with all of her might.

My grandma was like 80 or 81 at the time, but she is healthy and deceptively strong; I was afraid above all else that she was going put her arm through the window and slice herself up. I also obviously didn't want her smashing my window; I rolled the window down slightly, pointed at her, and yelled "IF YOU BREAK MY FUCKING WINDOW YOU'RE GONNA BUY ME A NEW ONE!"

You try being an Aspie with sensory issues locked in a truck with someone (even if it is your grandmother) pounding furiously on the window...

    :goingcrazy:

If it had been anybody else but my grandma (or any other blood relative) doing that, I probably would have rolled the window down and blasted them with the pepper spray I keep in the truck.

Being pointed at set her off even more, but she seemingly got the message not to take out her frustration with me on my truck and stopped pounding on the window; I know that my if my grandma had broken anything on my truck, she would have had made it right and paid for repairs. My biggest worry was seriously that she was going to put her fist directly through my window and slice up her arm, and I would be rushing her to the hospital.

I really love this house, as it is just the right size and combines two of my favorite styles, which would be contemporary and ranch...

It even has 2x6 exterior wall framing! My biggest complaint about the plan is that with the exception of the sloped ceiling in the living room, all of the ceilings are 8-foot; I would want to customize the plan to have 9-foot ceilings if I actually bought a piece of land and built it.

As long as I didn't have more than two kids, this place would be perfect as both a starter home and for raising a family! I would probably want to add a second sink in the master bathroom though, just in case I did end up getting married...

Around here, definitely. In Pennsyltucky or even out in your area, probably less than $400K...

I am pretty sure my parents' house has 2x4, and a lot of these plans have 2x4 with 2x6 as an extra-cost option, but if it comes with 2x6 by default I ain't complaining!

Up North, like near Centralia, this house could probably be had for less than $300K! Even with granite countertops in the kitchen and all three bathrooms, and other premium upgrades, it would probably be anywhere from $250K to $325K in many parts of Pennsylvania. What sucks is that they're cheap in those area for a reason, and that reason is that they're in the middle of nowhere and there's not much in the way of decent-paying jobs...

This is another one of my personal favorites. It has 2x4 instead of 2x6, and it does not have a walk-in closet in the master bedroom, but I still really like it!

I would add a 3-car garage and increase the size of the master bedroom so it could have least one walk-in closet and a larger bathroom with dual sinks; I absolutely love the kitchen in this house...

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I think you're confusing cost with value. The house will likely cost the same to build (roughly) anywhere as the materials price is the same just about wherever you go.
The value of the house will be different dependent upon the area it is built.

Good point. There are some decent pieces of vacant land in Perkasie at reasonable prices with electric, sewage, and water already set up that would be perfect for a house like this...
