Idling at the car show with heat cranked because it got chilly, and the temp gauge is normal...

 

A lot of the same cars I've taken pictures of before...

 

A lot of people have gone home...

 

You could be really picking up the hotties with that truck man..

 

I kinda want to ask Colleen out; I've already known her for almost 15 years and she's comfortable enough to let me put her in an an apron and a mask for an amateur photo shoot!

After adding a small amount of coolant to the system and vastly improving the heater performance as a result, I have come to one of the following conclusions...

The new thermostat that Pete installed about three weeks ago was defective out of the box (unlikely).

• There is a blockage somewhere between the radiator and the heater core that is preventing the coolant from making the full loop (possible)
• The coolant is lower than it seems because of air in the system (mostly likely).

Anything is possible, but there are literally no signs pointing towards a bad head gasket or a cracked head. The truck runs smooth as silk, and the only issue at the moment is that doesn't work as well when the truck is idling as it does when the truck is moving. It works good now that I've added coolant, but not as good as it should.

The truck is not running hot, there are no leaks or signs thereof, and I just think it's some embarrassing simple problem.

 

I'd almost bet you still have an air pocket or two. Water cooled motorcycles are notorious for this and can be a real bear to get them burped fully. Keep an eye on coolant level and temp gauge. I doubt you've done any significant damage so far and think if you just keep an eye on things it'll work itself out. Annoying to deal with, absolutely!

 

So you think it was likely an air pocket that caused the temp gauge to approach the red zone this afternoon?

 

So the random car show participant who wanted her picture taken in the zombie Hunter outfit was enthralled with my truck, and was looking through the window up at my patch collection. She was like up against my truck and said "Sorry my boobs are rubbing against your truck..."

My response was something like "of all the things that could come in contact with the pain, boobs are probably the least dangerous..."

 

And the one with my truck in it that I somehow missed and forgot to post...

 

In just over 24 hours, four attractive women have put on this apron and gotten their picture taken with my truck!

 

Yes. This winter I did a valve check and coolant flush on my FJR1300 and it took a few rides over several days ro get coolant level and operating temps just right.

 

I'm surprised a Taco would do that though...

 

I added some more lettering to the apron, and I'm going to add more when the last of my decal kits arrive...

Boobs would certainly make me run a bit hot...

 

The anonymous pink-haired zombie huntress provided her own mask, but the other three woman have worn this one in just over 24 hours. I assure you that the mask has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between uses, but I am gonna have to buy a new "garage respirator" now because this one has been relegated to seasonal prop use...

 

I initially met up with my best friend Dave before he left and I went off on my own to take pictures of my beloved zombie truck. We do not know for sure, but we do believe that we stumped upon what was once the garbage dump where the fire for which Centralia is infamous for was started back in 1962...

 

Those are deer tracks in the weird coal/dirt mixture...
