I don't know if you guys remember this, but Gwyn (the woman pictured above) was put in a straitjacket almost 25 years ago as part of mental health crisis training at facility where she used to work.

 

Apparently, it was more like 30 years ago...

I honestly think that driving for DoorDash killed my goddamn head gasket. Never again, at least not in the truck.

 

Yeah deliveries are hard on the vehicles

 

Shoot, in my younger years I would have 2-3 vehicles in one calendar year. Though there were a few reason why..

I'd think about that seriously especially with that mileage. Growing up my friend's dad had several of those and they were reliable as hell.

That tells me the same thing I already knew...though I have a different view than most re buying vehicles.

After doing quite a bit of research, my dad and I have determined that fixing the Tacoma and keeping it for a bit longer is in fact the best course of action. Also, I haven't gotten an official quote, but getting the head gasket done at the stealership would exceed five grand. If Pete's charging $4,700 for a head gasket and timing chain, I guarantee you that the dealer will charge more for the same job than Pete would charge to replace the entire engine.

Anna is something of an adventure junkie, and I am presently trying to talk her into going with me on my next trip to Centralia; I am obsessed with that damn place!

 

I think my dad feels bad because I (A) took really good care of the truck and neither of us were expecting this to happen, and (B) poured my heart and soul into it over the last decade.

I literally just asked him why he's helping me, and he says it's because I'm his son. I have money, but the problem is I'm putting it all into my 401K and other investments.
