The Maennerchor, a members only/after hours bar on East Oakland. I am not a member myself, but I am friends with enough people who are that I have been able to get it on the "open house/bring a friend" nights by going with them...

I have no complaints about this place. They have a good selection of beer on tap and by the bottle. The bar is also air-conditioned and has a few arcade-style games as well as a jukebox. I've had some good times in this bar...

Also, the owners of this place are AWESOME! One time when I was at the state store picking up liquor (with my Taco, of course), the owners were right behind me in line (in their full-size pickup truck). I had a crapload of liquor to load into the Tacoma, and the single employee working that day had customers, so they got out of their truck and helped me load up mine!

This is one of many things I love about the bar business...

People in this business always help each other out in one way or another, even if they are from competing establishments that are literally within walking distance of each other...

Down this side street on the left...

It's partially obstructed by the Ford Explorer, but on the left side of Taylor Alley you can see the detached garage/guesthouse of the new house...

The intersection of East Oakland Avenue and South Pine Street, where I was hit by a drunk driver...

I stopped at the stop sign and started making the left turn from where that silver Honda CRV is. The Mercedes that hit me was stopped where that white Ford Fusion is, and see that red Cadillac? I was not quite where the Caddy is now when the Benz hit me...

This house, located on East Oakland, is one of the better new builds in town, at least in my opinion...

    WednesdayOctober25th2017 515.jpg

The house looks like it could have been built in 1800s or early 20th century, but it was actually built in 2006. As such, it features all the modern amenities you would expect in a newer home (central A/C, high ceilings, walk-in closets, etc)... WednesdayOctober25th2017 516.jpg

This house, also on East Oakland, was built in 1871. It began life as a duplex, but the current owner tore down the dividing wall and turned it into a single-family home.

    WednesdayOctober25th2017 519.jpg WednesdayOctober25th2017 517.jpg

My late Grandmother's childhood home, which was built in 1936, did not originally have electricity! That said, I highly doubt this house had it, and obviously didn't have central air. However, this house seems to have been retrofitted with central A/C prior to being converted into a single home. Each side had it's own unit; Now that the center wall is knocked out, this house does not have a traditional 1st floor/2nd floor dual-zone system, but rather a system for each side. This Carrier replaced a 1980s York Stellar Series A/C unit about 2 or 3 years ago; The other side of the house has a 1990s Carrier TECH2000...

This 4-unit brick townhouse building was built in about 1870 and is listed as a historic place.

The end unit on the left (with the rainbow "PEACE" flag hanging on the front porch) and the second unit from the right (with the foyer light on) have both been retrofitted with central A/C. The other two units do not have central A/C. The owner of the right interior unit recently completed extensive renovations on his house, which included basically gutting the place. I happened to be walking Tully one day while he was taking a break from renovating the place, we got to talking, and he was all too happy to invite me in an show me around. I was jealous of the place!

The living room features an exposed brick wall, and the small but fully equipped kitchen has been updated with custom cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. As I said before, the 2-bedroom townhouse also has central air...WednesdayOctober25th2017 004.jpg WednesdayOctober25th2017 520.jpg

    My baby!

I originally put the flags on the back just for the heck of it. They were originally meant to be put in the windows, but since I got the Weathertech rainguards they won't fit...

    WednesdayNovember4th2017 179.jpg

Literally not even a day after I put the flags on, a terrorist killed 8 people in NYC, so I figured I'd leave them there to show support for my country, and those affected by the act of terrorism.

I don't want to clog up the "park near each other" thread chatting about our trucks, so I moved this conversation to my personal thread...

Do you have a killer stereo system to match the exterior modifications?

'21 Nothing so far, I just bought the friggin thing!! '09 Silver SR5 Prerunner DCSB (sold) Dick Cepek rims, 33” Cooper AT 3’s, 24 in light bar, custom-made hitch step, sport headlights (on SR5 taco), Gator tonneau cover (looking for Best Top soft camper shell), real tree seat covers, weather tech floor liners, 6’ bed mat cut to 5’ (because the 6’ ones were the only ones available, alpine touch screen head unit, alpine 1100w amp powering 2 10” subs, upgraded door speakers (forgotten the brand), Magnaflow exhaust
    @PennSilverTaco
Yeah I have two 10” subs behind the rear seats, alpine head unit of some kind (I forgot whitch one), upgraded door speakers all around, I have an amp in the glove box for the door speakers (need to do another upgrade on them because they are overpowered and cut out if I crank it too much). I am looking for some new speakers but I don’t have the funds right now so hopefully after Xmas I’ll have enough for them.

Also I’m looking at getting a apple car play head unit but I need speakers first
