Sounds like that was a problem between “Her and Mike”.
All I would have said was “I didn’t hit your ma’am”.

And it's not that their hard to deal with; I haven't had bad luck with drunks at all. A decent number just either don't know how to mind their own business, or are so drunk by the time they encounter me that they can't process the simplest of answers to their questions. A prime example would be the psycho 20-something woman who asked me if I had either a lighter or a cigarette (I forget which, but I don't smoke, so it I didn't have either), and then went batshit crazy on me and had to be physically restrained by her friends. All because I told her very politely that I didn't have a lighter (or a cigarette).

    I am a nice drunk.
Until I drink too much. Then I’m a sick vomiting drunk.
I don’t drink any more. I don’t know when to stop.
    So, I don’t start. :fistbump:

    @TnShooter

And then there was the Vietnam Vet at the VFW in November 2010. I was at the VFW because a nonprofit I was associated with had rented space there for a "Beef and Beer" event. I was throwing a tablecloth into the dumpster (which in itself is a long and interesting story), and while I was throwing this item in the dumpster I noticed an old man in a white 1988ish Buick LeSabre that looked just like the 1988 LeSabre Limited my grandma owned (except hers was blue). I literally said something along the lines of "What year is your car? My grandma had one just like it!" I was a 21-year old kid, and this guy scared me. He was convinced from the moment I engaged with him that I was illegally dumping, even though I was dumping trash from an event I was attending into a dumpster owned by the place we were renting space from. This guy started ranting and raving about how I had no permission to be there, even though I repeatedly told him that I was attending a Beef and Beer and that a group called New Horizons was renting space in the VFW. He wasn't having any of it, and I believe he thought I was trying to carjack him or something; I had a brand new 2010 Tacoma with less than 8,000 miles on it at home, and I had no interest in stealing his old Buick; I believe that I just walked away, but he wasn't done...

If you read the quoted posts, you will see that he apparently stayed in his car and waited for me and my friend Doug to come out, then shadowed us across the parking lot in his car and confronted Doug and me as we walked back to Doug's car on the other side of the parking lot. Doug is worse than me at dealing with the situation, so I had to scream at Doug to shut up, and then when this guy threatened to call the cops on me for the umpteenth time I threatened to call the cops on him. Doug and I walked away and the nutcase in the Buick drove off; 12 years later, I have no idea what that guy's deal was!

Mike said he didn't hit the car, and for some reason she insisted on talking to me; Mike is Aspergers like me and is not very good at articulating his words in certain situations, so it was best for me to take charge there.

Someone bent my OEM radio antenna while my truck was parked in the parking lot at Puck; I was working and didn't even realize it until days later, thinking that a nasty windstorm had done it.

Also, going back to the whole fishing thing, @TnShooter...

Any good angler knows that fish are attracted to shiny objects, and I think the same thing happens to drunks. A clean metallic silver pickup truck gleaming under a red neon bar sign has the same effect on a drunk that a lure has on a fish; I would routinely come outside and find drunks entranced by my truck when I had it parked directly outside the bar. As long as they didn't touch my truck, I really didn't give a shit, but I got into a few confrontations with drunk bar patrons over the years when I caught them leaning on my truck.

I would have told him to call the police the first time he had a problem with me.
Seriously, that’s exactly what I would have told him.

It’s not your job to explain what you are doing.
Neither is it his job to be telling you what you should do.
If he was that worried about it, he could call the police and let them figure out who was right.

Personally, I avoid call the police.
They are typically over worked and under paid.
And I don’t want to be “that guy” that calls them over petty stuff.

I had a friend long ago who was either the happy drunk hugging the guy friends professing his love or the guy who wanted to fight the whole bar because he swore someone glared at him. Neither is ideal but when it was the hugging we tolerated it much better

Well you can still say it technically but....

That's you..and me..and many of us here. No doubt.

True but not all parts of the planet are created equal, look at California with the air quality issues.

This is not untrue. I'll admit I have gotten stickers for a vehicle or 2 that shouldn't have passed, though it was emissions only..I always kept my cars in safe working order at least, the couple that failed emissions were so old and my budget so small I couldn't afford at the time to replace the vehicle even with another cheap car.

Though I do get a little salty now with the MA inspections change the past several years. Yes they're just enforcing the existing laws, though it's irksome that a few abused it and the whole are now scrutinized.

I almost got fired from my job at Puck in April 2017 (after nearly 3 years there), when the wife of a prominent local musician opened her passenger door as I was driving down the alley in front of Puck, and guillotined my left mirror clean off the truck. It was a nice day and I had my arm out the window, and this scared the shit out of me. I slammed on the brakes, gave this woman a look of pure homicidal rage, and screamed "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!" The aforementioned prominent local musician had the nerve to yell at me to calm down, and this only made me angrier; I had no idea who these people were and had no idea that the musician was a regular at Puck who made the club a good deal of money. I started screaming at these people in full view of a crowded patio bar, my coworkers, and my boss. My boss initially took the side of the musician and his wife, which made me even angrier. She actually threatened to fire me if I did such a thing again, and my exact words to her were "I don't give a shit if that was the Queen of England. She damaged my truck and she should pay for it."

I got my dad on the phone, and he talked to the musician and his wife, and then he calmed me down. My boss made me go home early, and to avoid causing hard feelings at my place of employment (and he genuinely felt bad since the incident wasn't my fault), my dad paid for a new mirror for my truck which my neighbor helped me installed.

For the record, I am still very good friends with my former boss (I didn't get fired, but rather had to find employment elsewhere when Puck closed), and we are quite close. That is the story of how my boss learned that I care more about my truck than life itself, and actually started going out of her way to make sure nobody else (coworkers or otherwise) messed with my truck.

The only time I got nervous when “drunks” were around my truck was when 3 of them sat on my tailgate. 1 was probably 240 lbs, 1 was probably 160, and the girl was probably 140.

Of you know anything about the Tacoma tailgate, it isn’t too strong.
But they were all my friends, so it wasn’t too big a deal.
    The tailgate held up:rofl:

    I don’t know bud.
I probably wouldn’t have acted the way you did.
Sure, I wouldn’t have been happy about it.
But I know that accidents happen. And it’s just a truck.

I will say, I think the lady should have offered to pay for your mirror.
After all, she opened her door into oncoming traffic.

I mean, I the same person that was literally hit by a porter at Toyota.
As in, hit my body with a car. I didn’t doing anything about, it was an accident.
I bet the girl looks behind her all the time now.

Isn't that the truth. I have never partaken in the herbal lifestyle, but angry drunk people are obnoxious. What I found to work is speaking to them in a low tone...they have to focus on what you are saying.

Don’t even bother with insignificant things like that man. The blind spot monitors work half the time on my truck, and my moms Rav4. Get yourself a 4WD V6 regardless of what trim it is.
