    Actually it does have a walk-in closet, just not in the master bedroom...

    @Plain Jane Taco

    Does your house have a walk-in closet in the master bedroom? What about a master bathroom with dual sinks, a big tub, and a separate shower? Whenever my parents buy a house, they always make sure it has at least one walk-in closet in the master bedroom, and a master bathroom with the features listed above. They literally never use the soaking tub, but they think it helps the resale value or something...

    Not enough. Need a mansion with a 7 car garage to host truck mod days :D

    I see you’re getting the house itch. Things are just so damn expensive. Nice to have something to aspire towards though.

    My original plan was to live with my parents until I had enough money to for a down payment. After being stuck in the house due to the pandemic, I am now strongly considering splitting the rent on an apartment with a close friend of mine. One of the biggest things I argue with my mom about is maks-wearing. I am fully vaccinated, and I have autism-related sensory issues that prevent me from wearing a mask for long periods of time. My parents are also fully vaccinated, and both of them got COVID in late August 2022; I did not get COVID. The only place I go to that still requires masks is my therapist, and thankfully only in the waiting room; I straight up refuse to wear a mask anywhere but the therapist's waiting room at this point, and even then it is really starting to get on my last nerve. I got to car shows, I go to bars from time to time, and I'm just sick of sequestering myself. It has unfortunately become a tense topic between my mom and me.

    So yeah, getting my own place where I can do whatever the fuck I want really sounds appealing almost three years into this goddamn pandemic.

    @Just_A_Guy

    In June 2013, my best friend rented a 1-bedroom/1-bathroom apartment with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and central A/C. It was like $850. He finally moved out in June 2020 and moved back in with his parents because his rent was like $1,100 and he felt like he was throwing money away. He was able to pay his car off early as a result and is steadily saving up money for a down payment on a house. Around here, the cost per month of renting a really nice apartment is more than the monthly mortgage payments on a place of the same size, which is a really difficult pill for me to swallow.

    I understand your desire to not wear a mask anymore. But I really don’t think it should be the hill you die on.

    Make sure you are moving out for the right reasons. Renting a place is a pain.

    :rofl:

    $1100/month in rent is not a lot. Not at all. If you want to live in a nice place in a decent area, $1100 is a steal.

    I’ve had many discussion with people telling me that rent should be $500 or so a month. Maybe for a shitty apartment. Or a decent one in 2010.

    But saving that $1100 lets you save a lot of money. I could afford a Raptor on top of my truck without rent.
