In the latest lego catalog it was marked "Last Chance" while this alone does not mean it will be retired, it's a pretty good indicator. It was released in 2015 and lego has to move old product to introduce new ones.

The VW bus has been around forever so it's not going anywhere. The Beetle and London Bus are the newest. So if funds permit, I'd get the F40, Caterham, then Mini. You don't want to suffer from missing out. Once these sets are out of production, a $99 set will be listed $150 the next day. :annoyed:

Additionally, the #10232 Palace Cinema will retired this year. If you are interest in modulars, you don't want to miss out.

Do you know when this year? I might put that on my Christmas list and see if "Santa" brings it...

Last year #10218 Pet Shop retired. It sold out just after Thanksgiving last year. If you have a Lego Store close, they sometimes stay on the shelves there after they sold out online.

Have you talked to @HomerTaco ? He's also a Lego nut and might have some suggestions.

Today was the workday from hell! Well, sort of...

I spent 4 hours driving back and forth between Doylestown and Bethlehem in my Taco, and put almost 170 miles on my truck in the process. I also had no car-related incidents (as my boss would call them).

Why did I spend 4 hours driving back and forth between Doylestown and Bethlehem? Hooch! Almost $6,000 of hard liquor, to be exact...

My boss was able to get a better deal by purchasing the booze at this PLCB warehouse in Bethlehem than from either of the state stores in Doylestown.

One of my coworkers (a bartender) has a 1996 Ford Ranger with about 90K miles on it. The truck is falling apart. The heat doesn't work, the tailgate won't open, and the owner claims it could break down at any time. This left my Tacoma and my boss's Honda Element as the two most logical choices. We decided to take two cars, but I left later because I'd made an appointment with my friend, who lives next door to my boss, to detail my truck. I'd had no idea I would driving an hour to pick up booze and an hour back when my friend told me he had time to detail my interior.

So, my Taco is finished about ten minutes after my boss goes to pick up the bartender, and I go to refuel it before grabbing a late lunch and hitting the road. My boss agreed to reimburse me for the gas in addition to paying me my normal pay. The drive up to Bethlehem is uneventful, but when I am literally 15 minutes away from the LCB warehouse, my Bluetooth goes off. The caller ID on my stereo screen shows my boss's number. She tells me that she thinks they can fit it all in the Element, and I was about to lose it because I thought I'd just driven almost an hour for nothing. She wasn't finished...

She forgot the check and wants me to drive all the way back to Doylestown to grab one from her desk...

    :annoyed:

My exact response was "Jesus Christ..."

    She's like "I know, Charlie, I know..."

So while I'm still on the highway heading toward the warehouse, I select the address of my bar from recent places, and follow the directions. While I'm on the way back, my boss calls me again and says she and the bartender are just going to start heading back because they've got stuff to do, and I can pick up the liquor order by myself.

The GPS takes me home along the Delaware River, and it was quite a beautiful job.

I roar up in front of my work at about 4:55pm, go inside, use the bathroom, fill out a check, hop back in the Taco, and haul ass back up to Bethlehem...

    :burnrubber:

By now, however, there's rush hour traffic...

    :crapstorm:

I made it to the PLCB warehouse at like 6:15-6:20, the guys there helped me load the Taco, and I was back on the road before 6:45pm. I arrived back right about 8pm, and my boss and a couple of the bartenders helped me unload the Tacoma...

As I said before, I put about 170 miles on my Tacoma today and burned through about half a tank of gas!

Is it weird that I remember what kind of car I was riding in when I heard, no...truly experienced, an Elvis song for the first time?

That's Elvis Presley, not Elvis Costello, folks... LOL :D

I don't remember what song it was, but I do remember that I was 7 years old (which means it was in 1996) and I was riding in my Aunt Sue's black 1991 Volvo 240 sedan (a fully loaded, Swedish-built tank of a car; my aunt and uncle special ordered it, and paid $27,000 CASH for it in 1991). It was right before we moved to California, and I believe my mom's 1990 Toyota Camry LE was already on its way to California (on the back of a truck), so we were borrowing the Volvo because my dad needed his brand new Nissan Pathfinder to get to work.

The Volvo did not have airbags (at least not on the passenger side), so I was riding shotgun while my mom drove. This really catchy song came on, and I guess must have either said I liked the song, or asked my mom who was singing, because she said "You like this song? It's Elvis." She then turned up the volume, and I rocked out in the front seat of the Volvo.

I also remember seeing a special edition Elvis Presley doll for sale at a department store (this was 1996, just one year before the 20th anniversary of The King's death, so maybe that had something to do with it?) not long before that ride in the Volvo. Maybe my mom was trying to show me, through the amazing power of music, who Elvis really was? I honestly don't remember. I just know I jammed to Elvis in a '91 Volvo...

And then that Elvis story brings up a whole 'nother part of my childhood...

Between 1993 and 1996, the musical tastes I have today were formed on many a long trip, typically riding shotgun, in my dad's 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer...

Just me, my dad, and a huge Case Logic full of cassette tapes!

So right now, I'm waiting at my boss's house for a package to arrive, for the second time today. The stuff is for work but she had it shipped to her home address, and I've been given the task of waiting for the packages, while on the clock! My boss is at the bar in a meeting with beer reps...

So, one of these two packages requires an "adult signature." In layperson's terms, somebody 18 or older must be at the house to sign for the damn thing, or they won't deliver it! If they come to the address 2 or 3 times and nobody is there to sign for it, you have to go to the nearest UPS or FedEx store (in this case FedEx) to pick it up.

So that brings us to the first package. My boss thought this one would be the one I had to sign for. It wasn't...

Not only that, in addition to not even knocking on the door, the delivery guy seemed to just throw the package down in the porch. I saw the whole thing, but before I could even get to the door, he'd gotten in his van and driven off...

In addition to that, it said "FRAGILE" on the package in big red letters!

FYI, while I was typing out the original post on my iPhone, my boss texted me and said the package was coming tomorrow.

Now I'm at the local Primo getting a custom hoagie!
