If the cops are doing their job, they'll hassle you for red lights on the front. However, around here, people get away with running stop signs, tires sticking way out, blue lights, no front plate, and more. The cops are too busy busting meth heads.

Did you consider she is just being nice to you since you're her child. She can't say it's embarrassing when people ask her "Is that your son with the wreath and big red bow with twinkling lights on his Tacoma?" Just a thought.:p

I'm gonna keep the lights white to avoid the hassle. They change colors at the touch of a button...

That has nothing to do with it. Since everybody decorates their car I don't think that's it. She prefers that I maintain a low profile though.

Could be. Probably depends on a ton of different factors. Cops down here in VA are funny like that.

    Lol.

Do what you want. Unsafe? No.

It is not going to restrict airflow to any degree and the battery pack is going to be air cooled, so.. literally making a mountain out of a mom hill.

    Get it..?!

I think cops around my area are too focused on busting drunk drivers and dealing with the heroin epidemic to care about an otherwise-legal pickup truck with a lighted wreath on the front...

I have a base model 2010 RC, and as such I just have the basic sunvisors that flip to the side to block the sun from coming through the side windows, but not the slide-out things that fully block out the sun.

I was looking at the way my visors are attached and it would seem that a simple Phillips screwdriver would do the job nicely. However, I'm unsure as to whether or not higher-end Tacos (i.e. SR5 2nd gen models) come with them

If they do, is it just as easy if not easier than installing variable/intermittent wipers?

My grandpa gave me $1 billion right before he died...!:D
    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

FYI, if I really had a billion dollars, I would not be driving a Tacoma.

    Wait a minute...

    Yes I would!

UPDATE: I've reposted this thread HERE!

I've just realized that my ultimate long-term goal is to build myself the ultimate regular cab 2WD 5-lug.

My truck, a silver streak mica 2010 RC with automatic transmission, has been in the family since it was purchased new in September 2009. Since 2013, I have steadily been modifying and upgrading it. For Christmas in 2016, my dad signed the title over to me and basically gave me the truck.

What I have now is a well-maintained RC with almost 79K miles on it.

When I say "ultimate," I don't mean slammed or lifted, or a wacky paint job. I prefer a truck that is largely stock but ever-so-subtly customized. Basically, a truck that is still fully functional as a truck, but nice enough to be entered in a show.

Most of my mods are listed in my signature, but here's a full list.
    @HomerTaco Toywerx Satoshi-style grille
@Ellis Precision billet gear selector knob
Boss double-DIN head unit with GPS and backup camera
    Pioneer component speaker system
Platinum Apex 16-inch rims (in black with chrome lip; this variant no longer made)
    WeatherTech rainguards
    WeatherTech floormats
    Intermittent windshield wipers

Planned upgrades over next year or two:

    Window tint
    Trailer hitch
    Paint front brake calipers red
Replace worn-out factory bench seat with buckets from access cab
Custom enclosure with 8-inch subwoofer and external amp
    Plasti-Dip Toyota and Tacoma emblems
Cruise control (still on the fence)
WeatherTech bug deflector (also still on the fence)

Both of my subsequent head unit installations can be seen in the "Audio/Video" section.

I already have a thread that's dedicated to me and stories about growing up with Asperger's Syndrome. Posts featuring bits and pieces about my Tacoma can be found throughout this thread.

Basically, I believe there is no point in buying a new vehicle when I can just steadily make improvements to the one I've got!

I'm going to turn this into a build thread for my Tacoma!

Im gonna have to get one at some point so i can have a trio (access cab, dcsb, and reg cab).

Reg cabs definitely look the best though out of the four configurations imo

Did you install the intermittent wipers yourself? if so, on a scale of 1-10, how difficult was the install? I've been wanting to install these on my base model, but have been shying away from it because I don't want to screw anything up

It actually worked out well because I had a minor accident in December 2016 and my body guy installed them for an extra $10 when the truck was being fixed. The control stock was a Christmas gift from my dad. I picked it up at the Toyota dealer for just under $140.

The install itself is very simple though; plug and play!

Even my body guy was shocked by how easy it was; however, make sure you're careful with the steering column casing. My body guy's employee didn't put it back together correctly. I could get it to line up properly, even after taking the damn thing apart and putting it back together again no less than 3 times! I ended up buying a new column casing from the dealer and installing it myself! Very easy!
