I change my own oil because I don't trust people, LOL. They just came back and said it failed the test, meaning frame needs replaced. They have submitted it to toyota and i should hear back soon.

The one thing I'm worried about is my aftermarket backup camera. I do not feel like disconnecting but I'm afraid they'd fuck it up.

Maybe like a weekly basis. The fact that it is almost 10 years old and has less than 100K is quite amazing. That's pretty low.

I really think it needs a Banks turbo upgrade. The head unit with backup camera and GPS is a definite.

Just asking because it likely needs none of those things - especially a cab fairing.

After owning many modded diesels, you don't need that junky banks system Charlie. If y'all will be towing regularly, you need helper mods. Install the new motor and throw on stage 2 injectors, egr delete, Smarty programmer, and TQ converter. If y'all can swing it I would throw some billet parts in the trans to help it last longer and tow better (valve body, pump, shaft) every single one of these mods can be installed prior to putting the new motor in

I know literally nothing about towing, but that sounds smart so do that.

Also, would you happen to know if these trucks were prewired for a backup camera (like 2009-2014 Tacos)? A family friend has a 2010 F350 Lariat that has a backup camera from the factory. This is a fairly basic XLT that definitely does not have the physical camera. What I'm wondering is if we are going to be able to plug it into the tranny like my neighbor and I did with my Taco, I wire it to the reverse light...?

And to think, one of the things I really wanted to do if I won the lottery was buy one of those Army surplus 1985-1986 K5 Blazers with a 6.2L Detroit in it and install a Banks Sidewinder turbo kit!

Don't know if you knew this, but Banks also makes parts for 2nd Gen 4.0L Tacos!
